NASA Is Not Altering Mars Colors

By John Bull 1

ATS Weekly, Edition 013, October 11, 2005

It was the thread that took Abovetopsecret.com to a new level, a post that even NASA advised people to visit.

The controversy surrounded the onboard colour calibration seen in photographs from Mars Spirit Rover in January 2004 which in the conspiracy corners of the internet had evoked similar misgivings as those aroused by some quarters surrounding the moon landings and which were reflected in the film Capricorn One, where both were faked.

This well researched explanation of any discrepancy, on the one hand was condemned by the less scrupulous 'conspiracy sites' as almost traitorous that we should shine the light of truth on a fledgling conspiracy while at the same time being recommended by NASA spokesmen as the authorative explanation when similar enquiries were made by from that point on.

For me this marked the turning point for ATS where our site motto, "Deny Ignorance", ceased to be merely a slogan and became a resolute statement of intent, no longer a plea, more a defiant call to arms which members have rallied to ever since.

EXCLUSIVE: NASA Is Not Altering Mars Colors.
