The Aliens Have Landed!

As most here know, my favorite forum (and the one that brought me first to ATS) is the Aliens and UFO forum. It is a pretty varied place, made up
of threads covering the entire spectrum of UFO and alien-related phenomena. You'll see everything from personal sightings, UFO photos and videos,
research into old documents, and even those claiming to be in personal contact with said beings.
Usually though, many complain that there is nothing new under the sun in UFOlogy. It is always the same thing, a fuzzy photo here, a blurry video,
or those same things with no follow-up or real effort to explain what it really was. This particular thread started out in much the same way, a blurry
nighttime, pic of strange objects. However, in this case, it was taken with a camera phone. In and of itself, this is not remarkable, but it starts to
point to a completely new factor emerging in UFOlogy. All too often, a common complaint is that the witness couldn't get a picture of what he claims
to have seen. Now though, with such technology, we could see more stories like this one.
In November of 2004, one of our members, woodsyboy, snapped some pics with his Nokia 7600 cell phone. He and some friends were, well...kicking
back, and they saw something strange and unrecognizable. They also heard a strange humming noise they had heard the night before in the same area. The
post was titled a rather eye-catching "Landed flying saucers from earlier today". The thread can be found here: www.abovetopsecret.com...
While the conclusion reached by many (including myself) isn't remarkable, and it seems most likely that this was really just the silhouettes of
houses, I believe this thread serves as an excellent example of discussions on ATS, of how members try and get to the bottom of things, and
ultimately, that with cameras on phones, we'll have more people armed with cameras than ever before. Eventually we'll have a good shot at capturing
some truly remarkable evidence. Please, read the discussion for yourself, and even if you reach the same conclusions, ponder the impact that this
technology could have to the future of UFOlogy.
