PODcasting Comes to AboveTopSecret.com
The next generation of information sharing is made easy.
ATS Weekly, Edition 007, August 30, 2005
Over the past three years, we've had an excellent history of "firsts" here on AboveTopSecret.com. We became the first "alternative topic"
community to surpass one million posts, we were the first community of any type to accept submissions directly from camera phones, we were the first
to integrate a community news portal into the fabric of the discussion board, we were the first to involve community members in collaborative events
with high profile guest speakers, and now we're the first to involve our members in the next wave of the future, PODcasting.
Of all the things we've done on ATS, this is the most exciting to me. Other than the core concept of a discussion board, no other Internet
technology marries so well with the core beliefs of our membership as PODcasting. Month after month and year after year, we continually prove that the
power of the information brokers is fading. And democratizing effect of easy-to-create PODcasts is the next brick plucked from the wall of their
fortress.
We believe that we've created the easiest possible way to distribute your PODcast on the Internet. All our members need to do is record their
thoughts on any given topic to an MP3 file and upload it using the PODcast Creator form. Members with more than 500 posts are automatically published in our PODcast feed, and those with fewer
posts are reviewed first. That's it. It's that simple. No other site of our popularity or software makes it that easy.
Simplicity of PODcasting is only half the story. AboveTopSecret.com is the most highly indexed site of our kind in the major search engines. It's
nearly impossible to run a search on our topics and not encounter ATS in the top 10, and very often we're the #1 link. Publishing your
conspiracy-theme PODcast on ATS brings immediate and significant exposure few other sites can offer. Combine this with our sophisticated new
technology backbone of four dedicated servers and you have an amazing one-two punch.
Over the past few months, members have often asked if we're going to do an "ATS Radio" program. My response has always been that ATS will do it
better and in a way that involves our excellent community of members. Well here you have it, "ATS Radio" the "ATS Way", collaborative and created
by the community. It's an awesome development with amazing possibilities... what will you do with it?
