A New Member's Perspective

Hello everyone, and welcome to this current newsletter (and from what I understand, the first one in some time).
If you don't mind, I'd like to take the time to briefly introduce myself. I am a 25/m from Ohio, and I am a new member to ATS. Currently I have
only 6 threads saved, and a total of 211 points accumulated thus far in the two weeks or less that I've actually been a member. Prior to becoming a
member of ATS however, I would often link to this site about once every week or two to read the current main headlines, which to me are by far more
interesting than the same old biased headlines, and newsworthy articles that I was reading in all of the mainstream government controlled media (at
least that's my personal take on it).
Obviously, if you're reading this article, then you are already a member of ATS and should be proud that you are! The greatest thing about ATS
that I'm discovering is that there are so many things going on in this world that the general public doesn't even know about, because unlike all of
us - they most likely have a one track mind, and take everything that they read at face value without giving much extra thought into the stories they
read into. We on the other hand, are open minded and for most of us are willing to at least consider other peoples' views on what is considered to be
"reality" (or lack thereof if that is your belief as well). It is very hard these days to talk about things which are so out of the "norm." with
everyday people without fear of being ridiculed or rejected. Therefore it is great to be able to log onto ATS and have an opportunity to discuss
things in an adult manner with thousands of other members without fear, or at least some worry of any of those same consequences to follow. I mean
sure, we all may post something which is debatable, but at least we're willing to do so, and are also likely to at least consider the fact that we
may be wrong about things at time. If we wanted to talk without any feedback we'd all be sharing our stories with weak minded people who won't argue
back for the sole purpose of simply getting a point across to someone to feed your person ego's (but we're above all that!).
Furthermore, it goes without saying that we need more people like us in the world - People with an open mind, people with interesting ideas and
stories to share, people who aren't wrapped up in all of the B.S that society deals to us, people who are willing to listen to reason, and people who
aren't afraid to give their honest opinions. Perhaps if there were more people like us in the world, then things would be much better off than they
are as we simply try to "understand" each other, rather than placing blame and pointing fingers. So once again... be glad your here, keep up with
the great posts, and if you know other's like yourself... send them this way! After all, there's power in numbers and if the world is ever to become
a better place, it's going to be people like ourselves that make it that way.
Also, being a new member I would like to quickly add my thanks to anybody who has helped me out here on ATS, or posted a comment onto any of my
threads. If anybody else is a new member, there is much help available from the "experienced" user's here, so don't be afraid to ask questions or
seek help if you ever get lost or confused about anything. Also don't give up on us if you fit into the same category as myself. Anyway, thank you
all for the time, and keep those brainwaves moving!
Sincerely,
Evilgenyus (James)
