New Creationism and Evolution Forum
ATS is happy to announced a long anticipated foray into the incredibly divisive and heady world of the Creationistm and Evolution controversy. Many
threads relevant to creationism, evolution, and origins in general have been moved out of their original forums and transplanted into this new forum,
where they have been actively revived, while new threads on
new subjects are adding up at a great pace.
Many feel that Creationism is just an issue in the United States, however, there is an upsurge in Australia and the UK, along with a strange new
variant in Turkey, islamic creationism. This last form has appeared under the umbrella and aegis of the very mysterious Haruhn Yahya. Many observers
have noted that it seems to lift its arguement from the christian creationist movement of the past few decades. With the US Supreme Court being shaken
up, and most decisions involving creationism being relegated to the courts, this is an issue to watch. Many groups have recently started taking
systematic account of what the various creationist groups are up to, and have made some rather disturbing connections.
One group that is at the forefront of this is the NSCE, and as such an RSS Feed from their site is part and parcel of the new forum's directory. There are some important things to keep in mind when talking about this
controversy, which we here at ATS are looking at from our usual fruitful angle of conspiracy. As such, the various facets of the creationism movment can indeed be seen to be a functioning,
loosely integrated whole, with the admitedly secret agenda popping out into the public eye at least once.
But lets not pretend that all creationists are involved in this conspiracy, or that there aren't issues within evolutionary science also. Just as it would be a mistake to
view scientists who do research evolutionary biology as one monolithic group, its a mistake to view creationists as such also. Marg6043 and Valhall
entered into an interesting discussion
on just that subject, looking at the diversity and perceptions of the creationist movment. At the same time, the Forum Subject Matter Expert, Zipdot,
posted an interesting consideration of abiogenesis, the science that deals with the origins of life.
