ABOUT ABOVE TOP SECRET
October 2004 Site Performance Summary
More growth. New reporting software. And changes ahead.

The Internet's largest and most popular community dedicated to the discussion of conspiracies, cover ups, scandals and other "alternative topics" has experienced another month of continued high traffic and interest. However, this month begins a new more accurate method of tracking users and pages viewed, DeepMetrix Professional. Managing our own traffic logs and analysis software has become an increasingly significant load on our server, as our daily traffic logs regularly exceeded 1.5 gigabytes in file size!

Our October traffic analysis contains a mixture of the older Urchin reports, and the new DeepMetrix data. The numbers for October of 2004 shape up this way:

  • Unique Visitors: 1,088,165 (with one day unreported)
  • Total Page Views: 8,756,387 (with one day unreported)
  • Google Referrals: 417,569 (with one day unreported)
  • Bandwidth: 617 gigabytes (all days reported)

Even with missing one day of traffic data, we still experienced a new record in total unique user sessions with a new high of 1.09 million users in October. One item to take notice of, our stats for page views will undergo some alterations. Previously, we've been tracking every .PHP or .HTML page the server delivers to website users. From October 23rd forward, we're now only tracking actual content pages such as threads, forums, and main site content. While the numbers will end up appearing lower, this is a much more credible way to track how AboveTopSecret.com is actually being used.

October saw some interesting changes in our list of most popular pages. The single most popular content page in all of ATS is now a main site page. Here are the most popular content pages:

As we continue to grow, keep your eyes open for new announcements about significant technology changes and upgrades over the next 60 days.

Another great month for ATS! Onward and upward.
