Lawer arrested while jogging

Lawer arrested
This is my first post.

Now where does protect and serve come into play in this matter? This is total Horse manuer (sp).

"I told Sergeant Reyes his behavior was unprofessional and unnecessary," said Phillips. "He said, 'I'm Metro. We can do whatever we please.' "

This comment alone lets you know why police are looked at as jackbooted thugs.
Im surprised they still have their jobs for acting the way they did.

I've never seen a "Restricted Post" before, but I think it may have to do with this.

Damn that probably is what happened. This sucks and it was a totally interesting article too. Oh well freedom of speech is disappearing as we know it.

If you press the "quote" button in the OP, you can still read what he originally posted. Just cut and paste the link to your browser and you can follow it to the story.

That new logo is creepy.

Edit to add: If this is what we can expect from ATS 2010, they can keep it in the can IMO.

The longer the delay, the better.

What the !?

The article is public news. You can not censor it because you were the one that wrote about it and want to keep it for yourself.

This is turning into a dead end street. Come on ! That can not be excepted...

Do you people see what's going on here? TPTB don't want us to be able to substantiate topics with linkable sources. They want to force us to paraphrase EVERYTHING, no direct quotes, no direct links. Nobody will believe anybody and then it's all just hearsay.

They are trying to kill the internet.

Unless they've recently changed it, fair use should really cover what we do at ATS. It has to be something more.

Fair use is a doctrine in United States copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders, such as for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching or scholarship. It provides for the legal, non-licensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author's work under a four-factor balancing test. The term fair use originated in the United States.

Just wanted to add: I started a thread about the warning:

Skeptic Overlord stopped in and gave a good explanation of what it's all about.

I totally "think" I understand the "post removed" thing, but I'd appreciate a mod comment on it.

Thanks.

Now this is justice right here. I can't believe it, they are just extorting money from people. Holy crap how can they get away with this?

I wish the US Police would "torture" citizens like that...Much more preferable (& entertaining) than the truth. I saw better "hip action" on the cop than a lot of women I've seen (you know, the 600 lb'ers that need a van just to go anywhere).

There's no excuse for their behavior towards the lawyer, Phillips. If it were me, I try to slap a lien on their Bond of Office, sue for general & punative damages & then they'd have to try to get constructive jobs for a change.
