Around 27,000 pelicans have left their eggs and dissapeared from North Dakota's Chase Lake National Wildlife Refuge. According to news sources the nesting grounds of these pelicans have suffered severe weather in recent days, but they are not sure why they are acting this way.

Some 27,000 pelicans have abandoned their eggs and vanished from North Dakota's Chase Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

The birds' nesting grounds, about 135 miles west of Fargo, have experienced severe weather in recent days, the New York Times reported.

Animals have always been known to be the first to feel and act if their environment is changing and more so birds since they depend on their own internal radar to migrate for food and warmer climates.
