Corporate "non"conspiracy, guaranteing corporate revenue and planned obsolescence

so this is my take on this "non"conspiracy.

why do i call it a "non"conspiracy. Because I believe this plan isnt something very many corporate leaders would need to share among themselves, but rather, it is just something they would do in general, to guarantee revenue for each other. Basically colluding without really colluding.

so the first concept to understand is "planned obsolescense". If you already know about this continue to the next paragraph. Basically planned obsolescense is the idea of purposefully build and sell products that will NEED repair, so as ensure future profit. A fairly "good" idea if you want to make money. american car companies are notorious for this. ever wonder why foreign cars like toyota and honda seem to be of higher quality than american made? I think it is a general consensus that this is true.

So we can make a general consensus about the integrity of some car companies.

another good product to look at are laptops. I bought a dell laptop once and I will never buy a dell computer again. I have had so many problems with it and have had to replace the battery, the hard drive, and reinstall the OS twice. All within 6 months of purchasing it. Every other computer I have had is an APPLE, and I have never had to replace ANYTHING on them. I have an apple imac from 1999 that still works, and have never replaced anything on it. why cant Dell do the same? well i guess you get what you pay for!

Now onto the overall conspiracy. Ensuring revenue for mega-corporations and taking from the little man. I believe that people in power have been acting this way for a long time. While they may not ensure profits for their OWN company or sector, they can guarantee profits for other companies and sectors. Now theres too many examples of this for me to outline them all in a timely and efficient manner. But I will talk about the ones that quickly come to mind.

1. 9/11, the toxic air, and the rescuers.
Everyone knows/knew the air in the area would be of bad quality. But how bad was never made publicly official at the time. We all know the results, many rescuers came down with numerous health issues such as cancer and respiratory problems. Now why wouldnt the public officials make it mandatory for people to wear protective gear? It doesnt make any sense when you think about it rationally and with good intentions. But it would make sense when you take into account the idea of ensuring profit. This act ensured that thousands of people would become ill, and require the most expensive health care in the world, american health care! while the profits from this may not have been the most staggering number ever, it did however ensure a profit for the healthcare industry, and the industries that supple medical equipment.

2. this is related to #1. The sick fishermen and workers due to BP's oil spill.

rescue workers not being given protective gear and in turn getting sick.
This is the exact same formula for what happened in example 1

3. Katrina- Bush failed to act immediately, letting the problem fester and become worse than need be. this guaranteed even bigger contracts for reconstruction and for *surprise* the mercenaries who were contracted to secure this area. Lets think about this. IF the rescue process was started IMMEDIATELY, there would have been less levels of rioting, looting, and civil unrest. However, by letting the problem fester, and by letting supplies such as food and water run low, the people TRAPPED in louisiana were reduced to animals, having to use whatever method possible to survive.

4. planned obsolescense- as stated above, primarily with technology such as computers and cars, corporations guaranteed more profit for themselves, and the other companies that supply them with parts, and the other companies that supply those companies with raw materials.

5.Iraq- by creating this quagmire, the Bush Admin ensured heavy profits for companies like halliburton and XE/blackwater.

6. the avg MPG of foreign cars verse domestic cars.
Domestic car companies have colluded to artificially keep the MPG of our cars DOWN so as to ensure profit for??? can you guess it?? THE OIL COMPANIES!! Thats right! Japan has no reason to keep their MPG down, as they arent a very big exporter/seller of oil, so it does nothing for their domestic companies.

7. The attack on the internet-
For a while now politicians have had the independent net in their sites. Traditional news media companies and newpapers revenue have been going down year after year, due to the explosion of uncensored news online.

While this main purpose of their attack is obviously to stem the tide of information, their is also the hidden agenda of putting the news back into the hands of the controlled media. Remember, only government sanctioned news is good for you!

8. technology companies using outdated lithium batteries and sealed batteries in their product.
by sealing the battery in, they guarantee new revenue for themselves and for the makers of the battery itself.

Physical Obsolescence-
Physical obsolescence occurs when the very design of a product determines its lifespan. Car batteries, nylon stockings and light bulbs are perfect examples.

Style Obsolescence-
This is most common in the fashion industry. Making a perfectly good piece of clothing seem out of date and forcing the customer to replace it with current goods.

Postponed Obsolescence-
instead of putting all good innovations for a product, INTO that product at one time, they do it piece by piece, yearly. Examples- car models, Sports video games, ipods, operating systems.

inkjet cartridges-
can cost more than the printer itself...yet you may be prevented from using every expensive drop of pigment. Many ink cartridges come with proprietary smart chips on them that disable printing when one of the colors falls to a certain level, even if there's really enough ink to do the job.

Text books-
Even though not much changes from year to year for most core subjects, textbook publishers issue frequent updates. Trouble is, each new edition is usually printed with the information shifted to different page numbers, making it difficult to follow along in class with a previous volume.

light bulbs-
In a few museums, some of Thomas Edison's early light bulbs still glow, after more than 100 years. Yet contemporary bulbs seem lucky to last a year or two. Clearly, the technology exists to make light bulbs last longer, but that isn't exactly a profit motivator for manufacturers.


Another Dirty trick they use is making the cost for parts and repair MORE than what it would cost to just buy a new working model!

Key Points on planned obsolescence
* Massive quantities of waste are generated every year, which consumers ultimately have to pay to get rid of. (ensuring profit for the garbage industry*)
* Consumers are forced to buy products that fail well before they need to.
* The Earth's scarce resources are depleted.

This is a very good angle on how the big industrial complex works today.. How it works has been overlooked or forgotten or cared about decades ago, but today it is no longer being overlooked anymore thanks to posts like this one, and many others, and thanks to the internet for certain... People are truly awakening these days... (I may be exaggerating a little) :p

People becoming aware of obsolescence is one step for them to also become aware of many other deceptive things that have pretty much ruled our lives.. expose one thing and all the cards fall eventually..

Thanks for the reply! And yes i know this topic has been discussed before on this board in other forms, but like a couple other very important topics, I think they deserve to be brought up again and again until everyone sees this stuff.

The whole economy is based on the principle of depletion.
Consumerism is depletion of energy involved in producing consumers goods (pornography). Pornography becomes obsolete in about a day.

Money - money is debt. The richest banks are rich in debt. That is depletion.

Everybody has noticed by now that things are accelerating. They are.
Because the vacuum grows, and vacuum does not forgive. Vacuum is the force which is expressed as difference in potential. The emptier life gets, the fastest it deteriorates. There is no compensation for this in the long run. For a while it seemed that it can go on like this forever, but now it is obvious that the whole economy is made by the principle of a Ponzi scheme. It runs out of fuel.

Have you noticed that governments, all governments, of lately only deal with catastrophes. Natural catastrophes have been produced. PRODUCED. The vacuum that has been created, is pulling out the unforeseen contents.

Many here on ATS are expecting some kind of DISCLOSURE. Well, this is it. Lets play K.G. Jung - the Oil Spill is symbolically the outburst of human planetary subconsciousness. That is, disclosure is understanding of what is happening. Government will try to "clean" it, but will fail.

Because, there will be more and more catastrophic eruptions of understanding and much less willingness to comply to the economy of depletion.

Knowledge cannot be depleted or exchanged. When you exchange (share) knowledge you don't lose it like printer ink. It stays with you. That's what Internet showed us. Internet is replacing the economy of exchange, which depletes and moves wealth (or energy) from one place to another and accumulates it with the minority, while all others stay empty. With knowledge this doesn't happen. It accumulates everywhere.

Knowledge is the force, vacuum, which cannot be particularized.

Force is with us

This is not simply for profit.
It serves the purpose of controlling the enslaved masses.
One has to work to deserve to eat.
Factories must work.
If they made durable goods, people would not need to work that much.
It would be impossible to control and blackmail them back into slavery.

Free from work - free from slavery. Masters not needed.

People are now obsolescent, enter the "Eugenics Agenda".
I don't know about you, but I find that a lot more concerning.

Biology is obsolescent.

Biology is now genetics and nano-technology.

We cannot be sure anymore that this kind of metamorphosis didn't happen before.

Top post,may want to add white goods to that list.Remember a washing machine would last 15 -20 years,you may have it repaired a few times,but these days lucky if ya get 5 yrs out of one, then the service man tells you the parts are the same price as a new washer.
