Interesting National Geographic documentary examining some truly disturbing secret actions of the CIA/US Army over the years.

National Geographic: CIA Secret Experiments.

It's the height of the Cold War and the United States government is desperate to combat the spread of Communism. The CIA launches a highly classified, top secret research program into the covert use of biological and chemical agents. In simulated attacks on enemy populations, entire cities in America are contaminated with bacteria, exposing millions of Americans to germ warfare. But the real focus of the research is on mastering the art of mind control. Psychiatrists at top academic institutions work under secret contract with the agency. Psychiatric patients, prisoners, even unwitting members of the public are exposed to a startling array of experiments designed to facilitate interrogations, induce amnesia and program in new behavior. Every psychological technique is explored, including hypnosis, electroshock therapy and lethal cocktails of drugs. What was the extent of these brainwashing experiments? How did the CIA become involved in such far-reaching and disturbing research?

Other CIA/US Army actions:

From June 6th to June 10th (1966),the army conducted biological warfare tests in the New York City subway system.
Trillions of bacillus subtilis variant n*ger germs were released into the subway system during peak travel hours.

The horrific experiments conducted by the army and CIA at Edgewood Arsenal and Mcgill University, unchecked by any responsible authority, only got worse.
By 1959 ,'___' was a sideshow, compared with another chemical: Quinunclidinyl Benzilate, or B.Z.
Incredibly, this drug possessed effects far more profound than '___' and which lasted for three days, although effects lasting as long as six days occurred at times.
Between 1959 and 1975,an estimated 2,800 U.S. Soldiers were given B.Z. at Edgewood Arsenal.
About this time, Jose Delgado invented a device he called the Stimoceiver.
This was a miniature depth electrode able to receive and transmit electronic signals over FM radio waves.
By stimulating a correctly postitioned stimoceiver,an outside operator could weild a surpising degree of control over the subject responses.

I think if you take all the mind control stuff in the montauk series of books, these are based on real things that america has done. Take the alien stuff out of it as we cannot tell about that.

But america does connect people to computer tech to project out, with increased energy, and all that stuff.

I think that real experiments where done at montauk, that included mind control, but no one can say for sure, the alien stuff may be a way to make the story into a fiction series to bring stuff out. But america has all the mind control tech that they talk about in the montauk series, and they do connect people to computers to project out and all those things.

Truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Andy, thanks for the reply -haven't realy read any of the Montauk books but I suspect you're right about truth being stranger than fiction.

Theres a comprehensive list here about secret government experimentation on United States citizens down the years and it makes for some very disturbing reading - some of the highlights are listed below:

1932 The Tuskegee Syphilis Study begins. 200 black men diagnosed with syphilis are never told of their illness, are denied treatment, and instead are used as human guinea pigs in order to follow the progression and symptoms of the disease. They all subsequently die from syphilis, their families never told that they could have been treated.

1940 Four hundred prisoners in Chicago are infected with Malaria in order to study the effects of new and experimental drugs to combat the disease. Nazi doctors later on trial at Nuremberg cite this American study to defend their own actions during the Holocaust

1950 In an experiment to determine how susceptible an American city would be to biological attack, the U.S. Navy sprays a cloud of bacteria from ships over San Franciso. Monitoring devices are situated throughout the city in order to test the extent of infection. Many residents become ill with pneumonia-like symptoms.

1953 U.S. military releases clouds of zinc cadmium sulfide gas over Winnipeg, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Fort Wayne, the Monocacy River Valley in Maryland, and Leesburg, Virginia. Their intent is to determine how efficiently they could disperse chemical agents.

1953 Joint Army-Navy-CIA experiments are conducted in which tens of thousands of people in New York and San Francisco are exposed to the airborne germs Serratia marcescens and Bacillus glogigii.

1955 The CIA, in an experiment to test its ability to infect human populations with biological agents, releases a bacteria withdrawn from the Army's biological warfare arsenal over Tampa Bay, Fl.

1968 CIA experiments with the possibility of poisoning drinking water by injecting chemicals into the water supply of the FDA in Washington, D.C.

1994 With a technique called "gene tracking," Dr. Garth Nicolson at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX discovers that many returning Desert Storm veterans are infected with an altered strain of Mycoplasma incognitus, a microbe commonly used in the production of biological weapons. Incorporated into its molecular structure is 40 percent of the HIV protein coat, indicating that it had been man-made.

1994 Senator John D. Rockefeller issues a report revealing that for at least 50 years the Department of Defense has used hundreds of thousands of military personnel in human experiments and for intentional exposure to dangerous substances. Materials included mustard and nerve gas, ionizing radiation, psychochemicals, hallucinogens, and drugs used during the Gulf War.

1995 Dr. Garth Nicolson, uncovers evidence that the biological agents used during the Gulf War had been manufactured in Houston, TX and Boca Raton, Fl and tested on prisoners in the Texas Department of Corrections.

Cheers.

Dr. Ewen Cameron's experiments in mental programming

Additional studies, conducted by Dr. Ewen Cameron and funded by the CIA, were directed towards erasing memory and imposing new personalities on unwilling patients.

Cameron discovered that electroshock treatment caused amnesia. He set about a program that he called "de-patterning" which had the effect of erasing the memory of selected patients. Further work revealed that subjects could be transformed into a virtual blank machine (Tabula Rasa) and then be re-programmed with a technique which he termed "psychic driving."

Such was the bitter public outrage, once his work was revealed (as a result of FOIA searches), that Cameron was forced to retire in disgrace.

Interesting reading here regarding U.S. Government power structure, wealth, secrecy and compartmentalization of information:

1. Secrecy. Nearly everything of significance undertaken by America's military and intelligence community in the past half-century has occurred in secrecy. The undertaking to build an atomic weapon, better known as the Manhattan Project, remains the great model for all subsequent activities. For four years not a single member of Congress even knew about it, although its final cost exceeded the then-incredible total of $2 billion. During and after the Second World War, other important projects, such as the development of biological weapons, the importation of Nazi scientists, terminal mind control experiments, nationwide interception of mail and cable transmissions of an unwitting populace, infiltration of the media and universities, secret coups, secret wars, and assassinations all took place far removed not only from the American public, but most members of Congress and a few Presidents. Indeed, several of the most powerful intelligence agencies were themselves established in secrecy, unknown by the public or Congress for many years..

2. Wealth. Since the 1940s, the U.S. Defense and Intelligence establishment has had more money at its disposal than most nations. In addition to official dollars, much of the money is undocumented. From its beginning, the CIA was engaged in a variety of off-the-record "business" activities that generated large sums of cash. The connections of the CIA with global organized crime (and thus de facto with the international narcotics trade) has been well-established and documented for many years. In addition, the CIA maintained its own private airline fleet which generated a tidy sum of unvouchered funds primarily out of Asia. Finally, much of the original money to run the American intelligence community came from very wealthy and established American families, who have long maintained an interest in funding national security operations important to their interests.

3. Independence. In theory, civilian oversight exists over the U.S. national security establishment. The President is the military Commander-in-Chief. Congress has official oversight over the CIA. The FBI must answer to the Justice Department. In practice, little of this fond theory applied during the period under review. One reason has to do with the secrecy: the compartmentalization of information within military and intelligence circles. "Top Secret" clearance does not clear one for all Top Secret information. Sensitive information is available on a need to know basis. Two CIA officers in adjoining rooms at the Langley Headquarters can be involved in completely different top secret activities, each completely ignorant of the other's doings. Such compartmentalization not only increases secrecy, but independence from the wrong (e.g. official) kinds of oversight.

I own and have read the Montauk books. Just so happens that Coast has a Classic show Art Bell did in 1994 up this week on their site, don't know what is truth or fictiion.

"Electrical engineer Preston Nichols about the Philadelphia Experiment and the Montauk Project. According to Nichols, Tesla had input on the Philadelphia Experiment and Al Bielek's account of what happened on the ship in 1943 is essentially accurate.

Nichols explained that the work begun with the Philadelphia Experiment was subsequently transferred to Los Alamos Laboratory for the engineering and Brookhaven for the human elements. He said he was brought on board to work for the Montauk Project at a deserted military base in Montauk (not far from Brookhaven's location).

Techniques for mind control at a distance were being developed there using radio waves, he stated. Essentially, they were creating a "mind amplifier" in which sensors picked up a person's "holographic thought pattern," which was then processed through a computer and sent out by radar transmition. Nichols, who said he worked on the radar aspect of the operation, claimed that through such processes they were actually able to create an object out of the "background ether."

The internet is one of those experiments, the Cia had it first then the military branches got it.

The question is where do you think our intelligent agencies got this telepathic link to worldwide communication at our disposle.

You bet the Remote Viewing program at S.R.I. expanded it big time, along with Remote Viewing telepathy was common, it is what scared the PTB, they didn't want their minds read, so the Army dumped the program, the CIA is still using it I am sure.

CIA delved into ESP, telepathy, and all kinds of things involving psychic abilities and mind control. As did the USSR. up until the early 90's the CIA continued research, deemed it economically draining, and shut it down. The CIA has only begun to unclassify bits and pieces of said studies. not surprising, yet still unnerving.

Thanks for the replies.

Talking of declassified documents, theres some interesting reading below about a series of CIA mind-control experiments called Project Bluebird:

Project Bluebird was approved by the director of the CIA on April 20, 1950. In a 1951 memo, Bluebird states that practical research was to be conducted to include these specific problems:

*Can we create by post-H control an action contrary to an individual’s basic moral principles?

*Can we in a matter of an hour, two hours, one day, etc., induce an H (hypnotic) condition in an unwilling subject to such an extent that he will perform an act for our benefit?

*Could we seize a subject and in the space of an hour or two by post-H control have him crash an airplane, wreck a train, etc.?

*Can we by H and SI techniques force a subject to travel long distances, commit specified acts and return to us or bring documents or materials?

*Can we guarantee total amnesia under any and all conditions?

*Can we “alter” a person’s personality?

*Can we devise a system for making unwilling subjects into willing agents and then transfer that control to untrained agency agents in the field by use of codes or identifying signs?

*How can sodium A or P or any other sleep inducing agent be best concealed in a normal or commonplace item, such as candy, cigarettes, coffee, tea, beer, medicines?

Theres also this document about 'Unsuspecting assassins' :

A declassified document dated February 10, 1954 describes an experiment of relevance to the creation of unsuspecting assassins:

"Miss [whited out] was instructed (having previously expressed a fear of firearms) that she would use every method at her disposal to awaken Miss [whited out] (now in a deep hypnotic sleep). Failing this, she would pick up a pistol nearby and fire it at Miss [whited out].

She was instructed that her rage would be so great that she would not hesitate to "kill" [whited out] for failing to awaken. Miss [whited out] carried out these suggestions to the letter including firing the (unloaded) gun at [whited out] and then proceeded to fall into a deep sleep. After proper suggestions were made, both were awakened. Miss [whited out] expressed absolute denial that the foregoing sequence had happened."

Multiple personalities:

A declassified CIA document dated 7 Jan 1953 describes the creation of multiple personality in 19-year old girls.

“These subjects have clearly demonstrated that they can pass from a fully awake state to a deep H [hypnotic] controlled state ... by telephone, by receiving written matter, or by the use of code, signal, or words and that control of those hypnotized can be passed from one individual to another without great difficulty. It has also been shown by experimentation with these girls that they can act as unwilling couriers for information purposes.”

CIA Document

26 July 1963, MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence [15]

SUBJECT: Report of Inspection, MKULTRA

It was deemed advisable to prepare the report of the MKULTRA program in one copy only, in view of its unusual sensitivity. Normal procedures for project approval, funding, and accounting were waived. The program requires the services of highly specialized authorities in many fields of natural science. The concepts involved in manipulating human behavior are found by many people both within and outside the Agency to be distasteful and unethical. Nevertheless, there have been major accomplishments both in research and operational employment.

Over the ten-year life of the program many additional avenues to the control of human behavior have been designated under the MKULTRA charter, including radiation, electro-shock, harassment substances, and paramilitary devices. Some MKULTRA activities raise questions of legality implicit in the original charter. A final phase of the testing of MKULTRA products places the rights and interests of US citizens in jeopardy. Public disclosure of some aspects of MKULTRA activity could induce serious adverse reaction in US public opinion.

TSD [Technical Services Division of CIA] initiated a program for covert testing of materials on unwitting US citizens in 1955. TSD has pursued a philosophy of minimum documentation in keeping with the high sensitivity of some of the projects. Some files contained little or no data at all. There are just two individuals in TSD who have full substantive knowledge of the program and most of that knowledge is unrecorded. In protecting the sensitive nature of the American intelligence capability to manipulate human behavior, they apply “need to know” doctrine to their professional associates.

CIA secret weapon of assassination

A CIA secret weapon used for assassination shoots a small poison dart to cause a heart attack, as explained in Congressional testimony in the short video below.

The dart from this secret CIA weapon can penetrate clothing and leave nothing but a tiny red dot on the skin. On penetration of the deadly dart, the individual targeted for assassination may feel as if bitten by a mosquito, or they may not feel anything at all. The poisonous dart completely disintegrates upon entering the target.

The lethal poison then rapidly enters the bloodstream causing a heart attack. Once the damage is done, the poison denatures quickly, so that an autopsy is very unlikely to detect that the heart attack resulted from anything other than natural causes. Sounds like the perfect James Bond weapon, doesn't it? Yet this is all verifiable in Congressional testimony.

The astonishing information about this secret weapon of the CIA comes from U.S. Senate testimony in 1975 on rogue activities of the CIA. This weapon is only one of many James Bond-like discoveries of the Church Committee hearings, officially known as the United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities.

Free E-book on CIA mind control techniques:

Operation Mind Control by Walter Bowart.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/4aea370a06b2.jpg[/atsimg]

Review:

This is precisely the kind of dangerous information that governments fear. Operation Mind Control is not conspiracy theory. It is documented fact. Governments live by lies, by bamboozling and hiding the truth from their subjects. Accordingly, the primary task of opponents of modern tyranny, as libertarian Murray N. Rothbard pointed out, is an educational one: to awaken the public to this manipulation and propaganda, by demystifying and desanctifying the state apparatus upon which such lies are built upon. Walter Bowart heroically accomplished this feat.Operation Mind Control spoke truth to power as few books published in the past thirty years have done. That is why the government tried to destroy it. Years ago I had the opportunity to discuss these matters with John Marks, the brilliant author of The Search For The Manchurian Candidate: The CIA and Mind Control. Mark's volume somehow escaped the government's relentless campaign waged upon its predecessor. I highly recommend his book in addition to Operation Mind Control. Two excellent documentaries tell the sordid and shocking story discussed in these books. They are, Mind Control: America's Secret War, and Bad Trip To Edgewood.

More info on BZ experiments and highly disturbing CIA experiments on the unwitting US public:

On the Senate floor in 1977, Senator Ted Kennedy said:

"The Deputy Director of the CIA revealed that over thirty universities and institutions were involved in an 'extensive testing and experimentation' program which included covert drug tests on unwitting citizens "at all social levels, high and low, native Americans and foreign." Several of these tests involved the administration of '___' to 'unwitting subjects in social situations.' At least one death, that of Dr. Olson, resulted from these activities. The Agency itself acknowledged that these tests made little scientific sense. The agents doing the monitoring were not qualified scientific observers."

In 1973 CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MKULTRA files destroyed. Pursuant to this order, most CIA documents regarding the project were destroyed, making a full investigation of MKULTRA impossible. A cache of some 20,000 documents survived Helms' purge, as they had been incorrectly stored in a financial record building and were discovered following a FOIA request in 1977. These documents were fully investigated during the Senate Hearings of 1977

In the 60's and 70's I had a 'significant other' who had been an MK-Ultra experimentee. We didn't even realize this was the case until the late 70's.

He was a UT (University of Texas) student who had met with several so-called FBI (alphabet soup agency) agents at a cafe to interview for a job with the bureau. This student was against drugs, not a drug-user. They dropped what his psychiatrists and family later thought might be '___' in his alcoholic drink without him knowing it - presumably while he was in the men's room 'watering the dog'.

He had a severe reaction to this sudden, unexpected 'trip'. The next thing he remembered was being in a room with barred windows and seeing 'communists' everywhere - coming to get him.

The so-called FBI interviewers gave him a loaded pistol. He shot himself in the head to keep from being taken by the 'communists' he had hallucinated.

He survived and was a mental case for the rest of his life, as long as I knew him.

The story about all the after-the-fact effects on his life is a very long story and off-topic. Suffice it to say, he BECAME a paranoid schizophrenic and it affected the lives of others.
