This Story Strange Holes Appearing Out of Nowhere

Got me thinking, as us all probably where did the earth go?
It got me to thinking what else just disappears, well we all know about famous areas like “the Bermuda Triangle” but is there a pattern, a recent increase in Vanishing objects?

Now millions of people vanish each year in the world, many can be explained a new life, suicide, but some cant.
I couldn’t find much on vanishing things recently, a lake did disappear in Russia in 2005,

“Residents of a village in central Russia are trying to solve the mystery of a lake that disappeared overnight.

It looks like somebody has pulled the plug out of a gigantic bath," said the TV's correspondent, next to a deep debris-filled hole

But one elderly villager sitting outside her house had another kind of force in mind.
"I thought the Americans had got here," she said, laughing
Vanishing Lake Baffles Russians

Oh and another one in 2005

BOLOTNIKOVO, Russia — For as long as anyone can remember, White Lake had been the local swimming and fishing hole. Deep, cold, fed by underwater springs, the lake regularly gave up carp as fat as birch trees. A kid could cannonball into its depths from the overhanging willows and never hit bottom.

Russian Lake Simply Vanishes

The You Tube clip posted on the Story that got me interested in this is also very baffling, not that anything vanished but moved itself.

But more recently another lake vanishes!

March 2008 on the left and Now on Right

Lake disappears suddenly in Chile
Scientists in Chile are investigating the sudden disappearance of a glacial lake in the south of the country.

When park rangers patrolled the area in the Magallanes region in March, the two-hectare (five-acre) lake was its normal size, officials say.

But last month they found a huge dry crater and several stranded chunks of ice that used to float on the water.

BBC Video news Report

Well Lakes certainly seem to be vanishing, but could be naturally explained, more recently though from last month 8 Tons yep 8 tons of Olives vanished from trees overnight. I did a thread here;
Olives Abducted

Great olive mystery baffles Australian growers
SYDNEY (AFP) — The quiet community of boutique wineries, upmarket guesthouses and fine restaurants of Lovedale in Australia's Hunter Valley has been gripped by mysterious goings-on in its olive groves at night.

Around eight tonnes of olives disappeared without a trace from hundreds of trees on five properties in the popular tourist destination north of Sydney virtually overnight earlier this month, residents said Wednesday

Great olive mystery baffles Australian growers

Very very strange indeed!
I also found a few places that seem to have a concentration of vanishing things;

The Clapham Wood Mystery is the name given to a collection of unusual events which are associated with the Clapham Wood, West Sussex, England, resulting in the area developing its own lore in popular culture.[1][2] Events have included reports of people making unusual sights or experiencing unusual phenomena, and of family pets disappearing or sickening. [2] There have also been several human deaths associated with the location.

The Clapham Wood Mystery

Also in America though nothing seems to vanish here besides Sanity is of real interest IMO has 300 year history of UFO activity and maybe proof of pre Columbus discovery of Americas!

The Bennington Triangle

The term "Bennington Triangle" was coined by New England author Joseph A. Citro during a public radio broadcast in 1992 to denote an area of southwestern Vermont within which a number of persons went missing between 1920 and 1950 [1]. This was further popularized in two books, in which he devoted chapters to discussion of these disappearances and various items of folklore surrounding the area.

Folklore does appear to date back as far as the late 19th century and perhaps even earlier. This includes the local folk belief that Native Americans regarded Glastenbury as "cursed" and avoided it, as well as tales of hairy "wild men" and other strange beasts in the woods.

The Bennington Triangle

Wow Ufo’s Thunderbirds, Phantom Dogs and Trains, Mutilations all going on here!

Another Triangle beginning with a B here! but lots of vanishings too;
Bass Strait Triangle

the term appears to have been first used following the Valentich Disappearance in 1978 although the region had a bad reputation (never ascribed to supernatural forces, however) long before that.

Bass Strait was discovered following the wreck of the ship Sydney Cove in 1797 and one of the vessels engaged in the salvage operation, the sloop Eliza, went missing on her return voyage to Sydney. Hundreds of vessels up to the size of bulk carriers have come to grief in Bass Strait since that time, some dozens being lost without trace.

During the period 1838-40 at least seven vessels were lost with all hands on their way to or from the new settlement

Over the following century dozens of other vessels have gone missing after entering the Straits, many without trace.

The first aircraft to go missing in Bass Strait was a military Airco DH.9A that was engaged in a search for the missing schooner Amelia J

The most famous incident, and the one that has been the inspiration for paranormal explanations, was the Valentich Disappearance in 1978

The Bass Straight Triangle Wiki

Definitely unusual disappearances here in relation to the Valantich case

The Frederick Valentich Disappearance is an event that occurred on October 21, 1978, in which 20-year-old Frederick Valentich disappeared in unexplained circumstances while piloting a Cessna 182L light aircraft over the Bass Strait to King Island, Australia.

Prior to his disappearance, Valentich reported via radio that he had encountered an unidentified craft flying at high speed dangerously close to his Cessna, that later hovered over his aircraft. The case attracted significant press attention and became part of UFO lore

Wiki on Valentich

So if indeed there are areas which like the opposite to the positive energy centres around the world like Glastonbury, Sedona, etc with energy running along Ley Lines, is there as well an opposite to this?
The positive areas bring healing etc and the negative the opposite. The energy good has is opposite, yin/yan?
Are these “triangles” or areas, which often seem to be linked to Curses, Satanic Practises, Ufo’s etc laid out on a grid system like their opposite Ley Lines?
If they are like the ley system an attempt could be made to find them/chart them by clusters as in the areas above or by signs of their presence … what would be the standing stones in this grid? Which are the points of the most concentrated energy?

By finding this out they can avoided as needed and certainly observed closely and mapped!

What else is just vanishing?

Where are these negative energy centres also found?

Elf

TextStumble into Nothingness - It's difficult to dismiss such incredible stories when they take place in front of eyewitnesses. Here's another. This case began as a harmless bet among friends, but ended in tragic mystery. In 1873, James Worson of Leamington Spa, England, was a simple shoemaker who also fancied himself somewhat of an athlete. One fine day, James made a bet with a few of his friends that he could run non-stop from Leamington Spa to Coventry. Knowing that this was a good 16 miles, his friends readily took the bet. As James began to jog at a moderate pace toward Coventry, his friends climbed into a horse-drawn cart to follow him and protect their bet. James did well for the first few miles. Then his friends saw him trip on something and fall forward... but never hit the ground. Instead, James completely vanished. Astonished and doubting their own eyes, his friends looked for him without success, then raced back to Leamington Spa to inform the police. An investigation turned up nothing. James Worson had run into oblivion. (From Into Thin Air, by Paul Begg)

paranormal.about.com...

and this little beauty !

The Vanishing Prisoner - This first account is an excellent case in point because it defies any rational explanation for one simple reason: it occurred in full view of witnesses. The year was 1815 and the location a Prussian prison at Weichselmunde. The prisoner's name was Diderici, a valet who was serving a sentence for assuming his employer's identity after he died from a stroke. It was an ordinary afternoon and Diderici was just one in a line of prisoners, all chained together, walking in the prison yard for the day's exercise. As Diderici walked with his prison inmates to the clanking of their shackles, he slowly began to fade - literally. His body became more and more transparent until Diderici disappeared altogether, and his manacles and leg irons fell empty to the ground. He disappeared into thin air and was never seen again. (From Among the Missing: An Anecdotal History of Missing Persons from 1800 to the Present, by Jay Robert Nash)

So all in all I think there is a good case to be said for people suddenly 'falling' out of reality through what ever mechanism takes place.

Elf, if you want to U2U me I will give you a personal account of a vanishing person in front of 6 eyewitnesses, and you could add it here if you want, its just i don't want to derail your thread.

All these sound weird.
The one about the prisoner on the chain gang sounds like the witnesses have said that when infact he managed to escape and the prison guards or someone of similar authority has made the prisoners say to get out of trouble.

Adding to the collection though only as the search is current, the event is quite old,

In the Welsh/English border of the UK a hunt is on to find two towns that vanished in the 15th and 16thc , records of who lived there, their rental payments exist but no sign of the settlements has ever been found despite the fact the area has been searched for over 20 years!

A new expedition is now on to solve the mystery.

I mean can two whole towns just dissapear?

A team of archaeologists is hoping to solve a centuries-old mystery and discover the remains of two medieval ancient towns in Carmarthenshire.

"Records kept by the Crown show us that they were occupied throughout the 14th and 15th centuries - we even know how much rent people who lived there were paying at the time - but the towns themselves have completely disappeared."

Even more weirdness hundreds of pairs of Red Shoes appeared then vanished!

folk in Hebden Bridge are scratching their heads after dozens of pairs of red shoes were strewn along the streets.

The shoes, trainers and flip-flops even appeared on the island in the river at Riverside Walk. But then, just as mysteriously, they were taken away.

Matthew Paling, of Underbank Avenue, said originally there had been "hundreds" of pairs of shoes along Market Street. But then they disappeared. "It's very strange," he said

Mystery of The Scarlet Shoes

Now this is interesting as Halifax maybe the hot spot of ufo activity in the UK....as reported today
Halifax Online
..... so we may have a new site or energy centre, does anyone know of nay further strange things in this area especially in relation to vanishing things?

are these events linked? do the aliens not only have a parchant for Lakes. olives and Scarlet shoes?

are we being given a message about the pope and his red shoe charade?

Also whats the strangest "lost" experience you have had? what and where?

Such strange disappearences have always interested me, though I'm not very much of a believer in the paranormal. At least as that term is generally used.

There have also been some reports of strange appearences. I recall one where a young man was found, I seem to remember it as being in the UK, who spoke an unknown language. Later examinations seem to conclude he was speaking a "dead" language.

Some of the things listed above just left me shaking my head. I had a mental image of aliens on a party boat needing olives for their martinis, getting wasted and for some reason, throwing their shoes overboard, and then passing out while the captain refilled the ships tanks with H2O further along on their trip.

It was nov 18th 2004 and I worked at high security facility for persons who were deemed a danger to the state for matters known to the government.

Now, six persons were escorting a highly dangerous prisoner from place A to place B. Two ten yards in front, one each side and two three yards behind.

We were seen on CCTV crossing the landing, going up a set of steps, opening the cell for the person to be placed in and a twenty minute search of the entire place was carried out before he entered.

The all clear was given and the prisoner was taken to the cell, laid on the floor and his restraints removed.

all officers exited, the last slamming the door behind her.

We took off our helmets and the first thing we noticed was the silence. A panic set in that he had suffered from positional asphyxia and two officers placed on their helmets and gloves and opend the door.

The cell was empty apart from a single shoe and the blanket placed under his head whilst we removed the restraints.

The # storm that followed was amazing - people got demoted, people got fired, CCTV was examined by forensic audit teams.. the lot.

To this day he has still not been found although interpol were notified of his 'going missing from custody'.

NGC2736 Like you I am sceptical of many of these events, which I why I am interested in seeing if there is a pattern or locale that makes these events more likely, to try and deduce a reason.

I too had mental imagery which was heightened and made me laugh much Aliens having martini's and soft red Prada shoes, maybe the cattle mutilations re the boring out of colon and taking lips and tongues is as these areas are soo soft (if yuck!). Maybe the green ones suffer from corns or troublesome feet!

Joking aside something is up in these situations.

Thank you soo much for your testimony there of an actual disappearing event.

A truly remarkable story. I feel that with missing humans it is hard to prove anything is happening as free will and deceit, which is why i find the missing objects, geographical features more trustworthy,

Having said that, as your experience was with multiple witnesses and in a secure unit the likelihood of normal Houdini like tricks seems very very unlikely.

I find the event intriguing and maybe deserves a thread of it own for discussion. Do you have any fellow colleagues who could corroborate or any press archives, other evidence from the event?

As the nature of the detainment seems to be political, not strictly criminal or a criminally insane detainee, my first thoughts are that maybe for example if, just if, they were from a another country with a active and developed secret service/intelligence services they could have engineered the disappearance.

Smoke and screens is one of the tricks of their trade and using contacts, high funding suggestion, hypnosis it is possible for this sort of event to happen, though as you stated their was CCTV. So the person had to get out of the cell, either paranormal or a tunnel etc which would need the help of an outside agency. Either way this incident is of much interest and seems to have only two different causes, both of them the reason we come here. Start a thread especially if you have corroboration.

This seems like an interesting vanishing of people too I never knew about

The islands are famous as the scene of the mysterious and unexplained disappearance of the three lighthouse keepers in 1900. When the supply-ship, on its routine tour of duty, arrived at the Flannan Isles it found no lighthouse-keepers. The disordered nature of the furnishings led everyone to conclude that the lighthouse had been deserted in a hurry, but no explanation has ever been discovered. The lighthouse was finally automated in 1971 and the islands are no longer inhabited.

First of all it was the viking Leif Ericson that discovered north America in the year 1000 ad.

About the lakes vanishing I believe there is a simple geological explanation, this has happened in Iceland after earthquakes, it seems like the water just drains into some huge cracks in the ground. Here is a recent example of a huge lake "nearly" vanishing after an earhquake: Kleifarvatn

As for the runner, he probably did not make it all the way and couldnt pay so his "buddies" killed him and made up this story.

The guy in chains pulled a Houdini and the other prisoners made up the story.

Swarm of hungry birds ate the olives.

I think those are more likely explanations than any paranormal ones

Speaking of lost towns; several years ago, I heard a story of a Canadian Indian village that had all the inhabitants vanish. The best I can recall, the town was found deserted, with everything including the dogs left behind. (And I can't imagine these people leaving their dogs and hunting gear behind voluntarily.) Maybe someone has more information on that story.

Hey all, just a personal account that happened when I was about 6. Me, my brother and my sister were home alone, my sister who is 8 years older than I was babysitting. We all made craft dinner together, but as it finished, we were called away from the house for some time. We had left the KD in the pot on the stove, and upon return home we found that there was no KD at all, the pot was clean and put back in the cupboard. It appeared as if we had never even made anything to begin with.

I was just 6 so the memories of the event are blurry but I remember our whole family agreeing on the event.

My 2 cents.

Hey Ive found it and it has a UFO link to it, at the beginning of the recent post 1930's sightings very very spooky, it was on the shores of Lake Anjukuni in Canada.

In 1930 a trapper, Joe Labelle, was visiting an Inuit village of approximately 30 people and was surprised to find the community now barren, devoid of any signs of life. Canoes were still on the beach, rifles at doorways, food had been left in pots. One grave was empty. He reported his discovery to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The RCMP conducted a search for the missing people. No one was ever found. This is the story as it appears in Frank Edwards 1966 book, Stranger than Science; other versions appear in Whitley Strieber's science fiction novel, Majestic (fiction); The Worlds Greatest UFO Mysteries (presented as fact) has an even more embellished version, as do other websites and books, complete with mysterious lights in the sky, empty graveyards, and over one thousand people missing.

Wikipedia on Lake Anjukuni

But the Mounted Police later said it was a hoax, and the amount of people was less.. but would not accept their own records from 1931.

In other online Posts but not verified it gets very weird, and states more witness's :

He reported this discovery to the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police), who investigated what Labelle had seen.

The police discovered that the town's dogs had died of hunger, chained beneath a tree and covered by a snowdrift.

What was even more disturbing was finding that the town graveyard had been emptied. Despite the frozen ground, the graves had been opened and the dead removed.
Source/Blog but no further Link

I think if the bodies were truly removed well wow...

Really worth someone getting the RCMP records under FOI or something similar???

Anyone?? in Canada here know more about this?

Just found an ATS thread on this 4 post's and someone did start checking this looks like a cover up to me, lets complete the research any Canadians out there please help...
Whole Town Abducted

mmm wow.

King:

Thanks for sharing you experience on this.

I think many people can remember sometime when something has moved or vanished, it always baffles me when you look and look and it turns up 1 hour or so later like right infront of you on the table or something and you have pulled the house apart looking.

I have often wondered about Quantum Reality and "all is Mind2 then. That until you put your attention on an object it is only a wave Function, and when you put your attention on it Snaps into place, Schronginders Cat experiment/theory has proven this to be so.

So maybe we just totally forget about its real place even deep in our subconscious, and super-conscious and only when that pops back into our awareness or deep mind does the wave function collapse into form again...

Sometimes just sometimes that bit of it in our deep mind may be remembered in a slightly different part of our mind than before, and then when the wave function occupies that potential place it snaps back.

Its what the mystics/yogis and such like have been saying for thousands of years and maybe, as modern science is showing it is correct.

It would certainly explain your experience.

I once when 14-15 threw lightly as passing a pen at a friend about 4 ft away so he could jot something down as he was on the phone.

It fell by his side on the chair and I remember vividly seeing it fall to the side of his leg and land on the seat cover, rolling towards the depression made by his thigh.

He felt for it chatting on the phone, couldn't feel it, got up looked... etc etc, we spent about 1 hour looking all around the chair, room, imagining all sorts of "rolls" and Trajectories to find it, even trying with a different pen to see if we could see where that would "Bounce", but the first one never, its vivid today in my memory.

Even when we moved, changed carpets and the like it never came back.

The chair was all leather too, no zips or arms just a padded leather chair, with no breaks in the cover or holes...

Really spooked us for some time..

Thank

The Legend of David Lang
you for sharing yours much, something is in this sort of occurence, like said above either about the nature of mind & the universe or maybe in other cases like posted in Canada UFO's..

This is another Gem I found!

This famous case allegedly took place in September, 1880 on a farm near Gallatin, Tennessee, in full view of several witnesses. The two Lang children, George and Sarah, were playing in the front yard of the family home. Their parents, David and Emma, came out the front door, and David headed off across a pasture toward his horses. At this time, a buggy carrying family friend Judge August Peck was approaching. David turned to walk back to the house, saw the buggy and waved to the judge as he strode across the field.

A few seconds later, David Lang - in clear view of his wife, his children and the judge - disappeared in mid-step. Emma screamed and all of the witnesses rushed to the spot where David once was, thinking perhaps he had fallen into a hole of some kind. There was no hole. A thorough search by the family, friends and neighbors turned up nothing. A few months after the unexplained disappearance, the Lang children noticed that the grass on the spot where their father vanished had turned yellow and wilted in a circle measuring about 15 feet in diameter.

Chinook Salmon Vanish

Not dwindle as a population slowly, but straight away,

Very very strange indeed.

Also I know of this, I have not added any people so far as I am aware of an excellent Thread by SkyFloating on missing people etc, but cant find it but the following is so strange, and the person of such regard and with eye witness that it deserves attention:

The Disappearing Diplomat

British diplomat Benjamin Bathurst vanished into thin air in 1809. Bathurst was returning to Hamburg with a companion after a mission to the Austrian court. Along the way, they had stopped for dinner at an inn in the town of Perelberg. Upon finishing the meal, they returned to their waiting horse-drawn coach. Bathurst's companion watched as the diplomat stepped over to the front of the coach to examine to horses - and simply vanished without a trace.

Well some of the most famous vanishings the bermuda triangle cases may have been answered it seems?

Two of the so-called Bermuda Triangle's most mysterious disappearances in the late 1940s may have been solved.

Scores of ships and planes are said to have vanished without trace over the decades in a vast triangular area of ocean with imaginary apexes in Bermuda, Florida and Puerto Rico.

But a new examination for a BBC series provides plausible explanations for the disappearance of two British commercial planes in the area, with the loss of 51 passengers and crew.

One plane probably suffered from catastrophic technical failure as a result of poor design, while the other is likely to have run out of fuel.

BBC

Will be interesting to see the programme

If though it explains the scores of real events, which is mixed in with a lot or Lore and fiction it must be said I am not convinced of yet.

Interesting though

Kind Regards,

Elf
