maybe ill state this differently to get a reply

What i would really like is to be able to open a thread and know what time it was wirtten and replied too and so forth. At the moment i can't achieve this due to the fact that whenever i change the time in my settings too (GMT+3:00) Baghdad,Riyadh,Moscow time it automatically changes too (GMT +6:30) Rangoon Time.

now is this just me or is anyone else having this problem?

help would be greatly apreciated

All I can say is... make sure to hit the "Submit" button (at the bottom) after you get your time set right.

If you don't hit "Submit", then your changes won't stick.

Hmmmm, well, that's usually the most common issue with setting the time.

After that... I've got nothin'.

Maybe there actually is a glitch.

A Wrinkle In Time

I just tested the GMT, GMT+3 and a few other settings and they are indeed setting incorrectly, while other timezones are setting correctly.

Because the behavior of the drop-down menu is inconsistent while all other factors (browser, account, etc.) remain constant, I suspect there's a glitch in the timezone list, and have notified the Overlord.

Also, this is more of a general BB&Q topic (that involves a bug) than a Freshman's Forum topic, so I'm moving it to BB&Q.

Since this probably requires a code change, please be patient.

Meh... i have the same problem. But what does it matter? As long as the time is correct it doesn't matter where the time zone says you are. Sure it would be nice to have fixed but what does it matter?

One advantage is that it could throw Big Brother off our trail.

As far as I know it's been with us for a very long time. It's been here when I arrived, and from the legends told from one member to the next I've heard that it's been here since the beginning of time. Here's some proof of its early existence:
Many Moons Ago

Also
here
or even here
perhaps here
or maybe here
...

Whatever it is. It's a mystery. Some say it's a glitch in the Matrix. The only thing that keeps the system from failing. Others say that certain admin are just too lazy to fix it - but that's very thin ice where I'd rather not go...

The Day Before Tomorrow

Ah yes, I miss the Good Old Days on Eniwetok, but that was a different bug, from a different time.

In this case, it seems the timezones west of GMT work, while those east do not, hence my suspicion that there's an empty field or list entry sporking the dropdown menu's behavior.

Either that or we have encountered a localized distortion of the space-time continuum.

Regardless, hopefully Bill will be able to fix it soon.
