Personal Mood Meters to go the way of the Do Do

Thats right, some time soon, you will no longer have a personal mood meter displayed in your post mini-profile. With our massive traffic and server demands, little nicities like that are bound to get axed. As we continue to grow, and average over 150 users on the site at any given time (guests+members) things like the mood meter that were fun to have around turn into unnecessary server load. There will be some minor changes to the forum home page, today, and viewthread pages over the next few days as well. Some you'll notice, others you won't, as I attempt to make additional adjustments for optimized performance.

It looked cool and all, but IMHO, I'm glad to see it go for the sake of optimization.

I have an idea, you can set a point limit (say 5,000) only after which they can have a avator, that will reduce the traffic by a lot.

That way only those who contribute can get an avator.

Yeah i dont really mind that it's going ;P

Be sure to save all these things for a time in the future where an upgrade may make it feasable again.

I'd rather have a fast loading click, than bells and whisles.

Never paid any attention to it so I wont miss it.

its looks so different without it, but i reckon we'll all become used to it soon.

is there a possibility of putting it in the store, and maybe limiting the size in bytes of the avatars, etc. to help the server?

Does belowtopsecret run off the same server?

I never agreed with my mood anyways i was allways running for the hill when i was cool as a cucumber.

I'll be honest and say I never really understood them anyway.

Mine never moved it always stayed right in the middle no matter what I did.

goes to show how much attention I paid to mine. I didn't even notice it was gone. Did they really serve any purpose anyway?

I like surfup's idea of 5000 points before getting an avitar.. that would have to free up a lot of resources.

Good call, anything to improve the server's performance.

I rarely checked it anyway, and mine neither didn't seemed to move much.

Thats a bunch of bulls*it right there. What if someone that originally had over 5000 points spends them all?
