I too hope it is handled in Iraq, but there are so many factors to consider. Does an actual Iraqi system of law exist right now? will any system of
law created while the occupation continues be considered valid by the Arabs? Will the U.S abstention from the international courts affect the case,
where it’s held or its perception? Is Bush's government prepared to allow or to want a trial that could last longer than they’re in power, even
allowing for a second term? will each atrocity be examined in minute detail and be accorded a separate charge and term of sentence, that is if he
needs to be found guilty on each and every charge there needs to be a defence and prosecution for each. Not to mention what I said in the first post,
this is not going to be straightforward by any means. Far simpler for him to die of a ‘suspected heart attack’ or the like.
