Now why am I overloading you guys with Mars and Moon oddities? Heck, aren’t we here to get to the bottom of the Mars, Moon and ‘otherworldly’
conspiracies and discover what the heck is going on?
Someone somewhere will hopefully hit the bull’s eye with undeniable proof from even one of the thousands of photographs, some of which could have
been the smoking gun but tampered with in order to hide the truth.
Hopefully, an odd pic, which has escaped the scalpel, will one day be unearthed. And that will change the way we see the universe - forever!
Having said that, take a look at what looks like earthly forests and a lake on Mars. Looks like a nice place for a picnic!! Notice the distinct
shoreline and a line of artificial looking ‘structures’ on the bottom edge of the ‘lake’. Also notice image tampering on the bottom
shoreline of the ‘lake’, which is smudged.
Or are these the usual ‘natural geological formations’? You decide.

It's hard to believe that's an image from Mars because it does resemble a body of water. Now this is supposedly taken at the south pole of Mars
where there is an ' ice cap'

thats a nice pic of mars i still cant believe that people actually tamper with the picutres to hide the truth about mars to the public, even over a
lake.

That image looks reasonably different from the one posted in here, the one in here is much darker, and what looks a depression in the original in here
looks like an elevation.
Having said that, in the original there is no way I can divise any 'woods' , and the water surface might very well be an ice cap...

Having no way of knowing the elevation(s) within this image I can not agree that it could be a body of water.
It looks much like a hole of indeterminate depth (to my knowladge).
However, I do love seeing the pictures you post and I like the way your mind looks over things.
I think I have an idea of what you see in your mind and I agree...
It is a beautiful place to hold a picnic.

Wow, Spines!
That coloration is superb. Hmmm...Now how the dickens did you know that I had this in mind? I wanted to color it myself and see how it would look.
You've beaten me to it!
But, yes, it sure is a lovely place for a picnic!
Having said that, what if the original pic did have these colours but released as black and white so we didn't get to know the reality of the
existence of water and plant life on Mars? Just a thought.

Well if any of you would have clicked on that link that I posted earlier you could have an explaination for what appears to be a lake, but isn't.
"The South Pole, however, is a strange animal," Barnes said. "The cap is made up mostly of carbon dioxide ice - or dry ice - which is the main
component of the Martian atmosphere. The southern icecap is much smaller, about a 10th the size of that at the northern pole, and it is all on one
side of the pole. The other side of the pole contains a much larger area known as 'the Cryptic Region,' which is made up of seasonal ice in the
winter but has low albedo, or reflectivity.
"We basically think the Cryptic Region is a sheet of incredibly clear ice," Barnes said. "The reason for the low reflectivity is that the
ground beneath the ice shows up right through it."

The long straight edge of the water on the right looks as though its a dam wall. Its hard to tell but if you look just over the edge, you can see the
point of elevation to be a wall.

'Scientific explanations'! Scientists have always come up with 'explanations'. But these are more of conjectures. Has this ice been lab tested and
proved it is carbon dioxide ice? is it possible they are putting wool over our eyes?
I still say it's a lake of frozen water or it may not be even frozen during the Martian summer. To substantiate what I've said.....
The uncovering of an apparent error in atmospheric models of Mars dating back more than three decades suggests that both of the permanently
frozen polar caps are made mostly of water ice and contain very little frozen carbon dioxide.

Cheers!! Now we're progressing toward the reality that there could even be life on Mars!
Now where the heck have I kept my fishing tackle??!!

What I would like to know is why people dismiss the 'Scientific explanations' but accept explanations that even less supported.
Until we have a real analysis of that "lake" we can only speculate, and no one can show any real evidence of what that thing is, scientist or no
scientist.
And one of the reasons I have a preference for scientific explanations when compared to other peoples explanations is that most of those other people
have something to sell based on their speculation.

I have to agree with this. Speculation is more or less what goes on in the Aliens/UFO thread. It is speculation that should be backed up with some
sort of evidence that can be discussed and debunked.
In cases such as this one we must accept others speculation (save for the unquestionably inane) as being just as true as our own.
Unfortunatly, aggresion seems to be the name of the game when it comes to this and that is sad really.
Once again thank you for the interesting notion and the fun picture.

mikesingh,
May I ask a question? I have reviewed your posts and no doubt you are very interested in the moon and Mars discussions. Do you have an astronomy or
astrophysics background/hobby? Just curious...seriously! I am not even close to hammering anybody on this site I hope, I am just curious as to why
people have the interests that they do??
By the way, please feel free to ask the same of me if you like. I have just followed quite a few of your threads and find them of interest but prefer
to look rather than post yet.
Peace and thanks,
Mondo

If im not wrong we have been lied to about mars, we can live on it and breath on it. It's air there, check this picture out.
The first color image taken from the surface of Mars (Top), snapped by Viking Lander 1 in 1976, shows Earth-like colors and a blue sky. Several hours
later, NASA released an updated version (Buttom) that astounded the world with its orange skies and red soil. This vision of a red Mars has influenced
nearly every NASA image since and has become entrenched in pop culture through movies such as Total Recall and Red Planet. Some imaging specialists
suggest the original colors were closer to the truth. This part of Mars looks surprisingly similar to a rocky stretch of prairie land in Oklahoma.
Despite their enormous differences, both planets have oxidized surfaces that have been shaped by wind and (on some parts of Mars, at least) flowing
water.
Which one is real?
it's pretty damn clear that mars has a blue atmosphere on both pics, that should raise a lot of questions.

InSaneTK,
No doubt it is a cool topic and very interesting to say the least!
I have no proof one way or the other except from my eyes as well as you do yours. However, I am no expert at all and how would I know just by looking
at a photo whether it was liveable or not?? It could be totally inhabitable or deadly etpoisonous!
Seriously my friend, I agree with the cool photos and that it LOOKS ok, but how do we really know? Unless you, I, or anybody else on ATS has
professional expertise on this subject, we are simply speculating so far.
Again, I agree it looks great but I have no idea one way or the other and unless you do, and you may, I have to just sit back and idly wait to see
what happens.
Great thread so far though, you guys here do your homework and good thoughts!
Peace, Mondo

Mondo, seeing the content of your posts and style of writing, I’ve a lurking suspicion that you are an astronomer, or scientist, or even an
exobiologist! Good to have such people aboard. Hope to see some good arguments, for and against, from you.
As for me, what do you think? I ain’t no Einstein, for Christ’s sake!! Just an ordinary earthling striving for the truth, which is out there!
Especially when one is absolutely certain that we are not alone in the universe.
And if we are not alone, what’s the big deal if Mars is or was ‘alive’? OK. To put it in a nutshell, my theory about how we came about is
in this thread. The Asteroid Belt, Mars, Earth and so on. Have a look-see and then
you’ll understand why I’m so fired up with this subject!
Cheers!

mikesingh,
I hope I quoted this part correctly, but in answer to your question my background(s) are as follows: without notation or order of degrees/professional
attributes;
Anthropology, Egyptology, Archaeology,Biology, Aerodynamics, Foreign Language, but no Astronomy, worked with U.S. Navy and flight parameters of F18
Hornet.
I just actually like your inquisitive nature and the intensity of the subject search. I have a number of theories as well but tend to sit back and
observe the thoughts of others before I speak! I hold many people's opinions in high regards on this site, and then again, others are just plain not
doing any research at all or are here just to rant. Thus, I find this thread pretty unique and look forward to seeing what comes up next.
As far as my thread go, I usually just have arandom thought and throw it out there to see what other people think too, unless I am into a very
detailed debate/discussion on something in my area!
Till then, Peace, Mondo

 Great find mikesingh
It's nice to see that you are very determined in letting everyone know the truth.
I think that most of the pictures on this thread were tampered with but mostly with the brightness and contrast. In some of the images you can easily
tell that the color has been messed with too.
We are being lied to IMO, and sooner or later the truth will come out.

Are you really suggesting that the scientists looked at this picture and thought "Oooh that looks like a lake lets disguise it by smudging an
edge...they'll never know the difference."
'Scientific explanations'! Scientists have always come up with 'explanations'. But these are more of conjectures. Has this ice been lab tested and

Scientists explanations are "conjecture", then what are your explanations, the truth. Where is your evidence.
I understand using spectrometry techniques that the "ice" can be defined. You have looked at a photo wishing to see proof of Martian existence and
found it.

.....it's pretty damn clear that mars has a blue atmosphere on both pics, that should raise a lot of questions.
The colour variations are usual corrections that you get. The white balance on the landers would have been configured based on earth-light. Pictures
transmitted to Earth are always corrected one way or another, remember Hubble?
Mars has a blue atmosphere? Have you actually looked at it through a telescope?
It ain't blue anywhere. Or are you suggesting that NASA has been up to the planet with loads of red paint and air based pollutants to colour it just
in-case someone on Earth actually thought of looking at it through a telescope. Can I give NASA a Way Above Top Secret
I would really, dearly love to know that we are not alone in the multiverse. To find that there are or were Martians would be great, believe me I
would be over the moon But staring at lots of "doctored" photos in the hope that you find the smoking gun. Ain't the way to do it. There
again how else do you look? I don't know about you guys but I cant afford a lander mission there.
I know its all you got, but really if we were looking at the Earth using similar techniques and we were looking for evidence of life in the past how
successful would we be.
I grow weary now. Best of luck guys in your endeavours.
