3 decades after the Apollo mission, SMART-1 will survey the Moon and try to unveil some of the mysteries such as :

- Is there water on the Moon ?

- Why is the far side of the Moon so different from the visible side.

- What volcanic and and erosion processes made the Moon as it is today.

- What kind of asteroid bombardment left such craters on the lunar surface.

- How did the moon form.

When NASA go to Moon with 3 men they need 3 days.
When ESA go to Moon, without any man, they need 15 months.
But the ESA probe has an ionic engine. NASA was using a chemical engine.
