How do i do this? If i find a web page of interest, i usualy copy and paste the link in my post, but the link addy is usualy huge. Also, how do you change the wording on that link so that it still leads you to the same web page? On some posts i've seen links saying just "4000 goverment workers head to bunkers", and that then leads you to the full story.

Thanks in advance for any help.

When you post a reply, and need to insert a link, Click the Icon, that looks like a globe, just above the text entry box. It is the seventh one.

The first box that pops up, is for the title of your link.

The second box that pops up, is for the URL.

Or you can learn the BBcode and type it manually.

This is the URL to this thread:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

You can change it to display text by putting it inside url tags...

[url=][/url]

...with the text you want in between, like this:

[url=http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=212688]Click here for CX's link question thread[/url]

Which produces this:

Geez, I've been here how long and never noticed those tools? What a bimbo.

Thanks for pointing them out!

Be careful with those buttons. They have the annoying habit of sometimes deleting your entire block of typed text in the compose window when you press them. If you are accustomed to using the BBcode manually, I'd suggest you stick with it.
