Note: I could have posted this in the Alien and UFO forum, as it is possible that there might have been some extraterrestrial activity here. But for now it's just a strange incident... could be anything.

Earlier this evening something strange happened where I live. It was about 6pm and I was sitting here reading through posts at ATS. Suddenly the whole sky was illuminated and all electricity in our entire commune went out for two seconds, then it came back and went away for two more seconds until it came back again. First I though that it might have just been our house that lost electricity with a coincidence after the strange light(allthough I did think to myself that it was strange and should be checked out)... but when my mom and my sister came home they told me about it to. They had been driving from the stables where my sister keeps her horse, when suddenly the whole sky was illuminated above them and all the traffic lights blacked out for 2 seconds.

My mom also though it was strange. A bright light followed by a blackout could suggest that it was just lightening, but it was nothing like that.

-There was no thunder or other lightening all day (There can always be heard a distant thunder whenever a lightening hits close enough to #s up the power supply here)

-The sky was relatively clear

-The electricity never goes out in our entire commune when there is lightning or other causes of short black outs. (the different regions in our commune is hooked up to different power stations and its usually just a few houses from one of the power stations that lose electricity when the lightening hits close enough.)

-The entire sky was illuminated and looked nothing like lightning according to my mom. (Looked nothing like lightning to me either, although I was looking at the screen at the time, and not out the window on my left when the light occurred. I did however notice the light)

Do anyone have any thought on what this might have been? Any suggestions? Or maybe reports of similar incidents?

Could have been a scalar array (HAARP) test.

Yeah. I don't know much about HAARP, but I think I read somewhere here that there are HAARP stations located in Norway ?

Could be. Maybe a small scale test or something.

Did it have a blue tint to it at all?

I'll have to ask my mom about that. As I said I just noticed it in my left side window while I was reading posts here on ATS.

I saw the whole sky illuminated at once like that. Maybe it was a meteor or something. They've been reporting those alot lately.

Yeah, could be a meteor. That don't explain the black outs though.

You live in a commune?

We call them communes yeah. Norway is based on communes within different parts of the country. Norway has an extremely good political system, It's probably the closest thing you have to a working anarchy in the world today. Its still far from anarchy in its best form, but we are on our way, hehe. The country is parted into several communes. These communes have their own elected mini-government (if I could call it that). So we have commune elections as well as government elections (each every fourth year, with a two year room between a commune election and a government election. We just had a commune election, so in two years we will have a government election again). Each commune is controlled by the party that is elected by the people in the commune election... the communes get financial support from the state and government who of course also is elected by the people. So, while I live in a commune controlled by the most authorian right wing party in Norway (yeah, the one that suggested to electronically mark every immigrant that gets to live in the country)... I have friends that live in communes controlled by socialist parties. What is also good is that the party that gets the most votes, they don't rule alone... they have to share power with other high-ranking parties. I believe my commune is ruled by FrP(the authorian right wing party), SV(The not so radical left wing socialist party, hehe) and AP(The Labour Party).

But let's not drive this thread into boring talk about Norwegian politics, cause I really don't know a whole lot about it, hehe.

kukla: I just asked my mom about what happend yestarday. We got to speak about it more today and it seems that what they saw was totaly amazing. The whole sky lit up and they couldnt believe their eyes. Anyway... both my mom and my sister calimed that the light was blue. Do you know what that might signal ?

I can't #ing believe I didn't get to see this the way my mom and sister did... They really have noe idea what it could have been... only that it looked grand. The entire sky lit up by a blue-ish light followed by two rappid blackouts. My mom said she was going to ask around also. The local newspaper will be out soon also... I will pick it up and see if they have anything to say about it. I'll keep you informed.

I was driving on the freeway once when the entire area was lit up like it was daylight... I was thinking wow... that was unusual...

My spouse has told me of two such occurances here in the US in the last year. Both caused dropped calls on her cell phone (which eventually had to be replaced) and the second actually made her wire-framed sunglasses (for lack of a better word) magnetize to her face. She witnessed this while driving by a military base. As I understand it, it wasn't on such a large scale as you are tlaking about and centered at or near ground level but the source was quite a distance away and not in view from the public highway. This was described as a blue flash as well. I've rationalized everything from lightening, a welder, to a transformer blowing but we still aren't sure what it was. Also, she has had severe headaches since.

I posted somewhere else that I thought alien entities might be responsible for the black out. This confirms my suspusicions that something unusual is occuring.

Well I've had a similar experience along with others. This is a recent
email conversation between myself and a good friend in Idaho.
I've been meaning to start a topic on this and try and figure it out but
haven't gotten around to it. I did do some exhaustive research
in the UFO database and came up with nothing. The experience I had
breath-taking to say the least.

On another note, xxx, xxx, and myself were standing
> outside of my house chatting when the whole sky lit up
> blue!!! It was bright enough that it lit up the whole
> ground. I thought it was lightning because it was
> cloudy, and prepared myself for an enormous "BOOM!!",
> but nothing happened. Asked the fellas if I was going
> crazy, but they all agreed that it was blue. Dunno
> wtf it was but I've never seen anything like it, and
> I'm sure there were lots of witnesses....

I really hope you're not pulling my leg on the blue
> > light
> > explosion...Please confirm....

Absolutely not dude, I wouldn't do that to you. Seems
> nobody that I've asked so far witnessed it. Any
> speculations??
>

All right, I had to check. Haven't I told you my story about driving
next to Mtn. Home late one night..? I'm still at a loss and your
story is only more confirmation of something strange happening...

In the summer of 99, an ex-gf and I were cruising in your subaru on
the 84 late one night from boise. I'm thinking like 1 am. Very little
traffic. We had the sunroof open and bamm...a bright light exploded
in the upper atmosphere and lit the entire valley up with a blue
light for at least three seconds. It was like daytime but definately
a blue tint. And there was NO SOUND....

well what ever "made" or "was" so it could "could" have been a UFO messing around with EMP=eltrick magnetic puls

now, if this happend around a powerplant=POWEROUTIGE!!

but this would also do somthing much worse, it would fry your harddrive

I personally think it could be the byproduct of a propulsion system of unknown origin entering Earth's atmosphere. The event I witnessed was no more than 10 miles from Mt. Home AFB..
