The reason I am asking this is because i read a lot of information about it. But today I was looking through the video store in the Sci-fi section looking for a movie. Then I saw a movie based on the Philadelphia Experiment. That made me think because maybe some people that saw the movie thought that it really occured because the story sounded so real. Then it spread among people which made everybody believe it was real. Now this is where I ask for everybody's help to find out if the PHILADELPHIA Experiment Actually occured. I mean I believe it happened, but after what I saw today I kind of have doughts this is why I ask for your help.

Here's the "official" statement on the Philadelphia Experiment:

Allegedly, in the fall of 1943 a U.S. Navy destroyer was made invisible and teleported from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Norfolk, Virginia, in an incident known as the Philadelphia Experiment. Records in the Operational Archives Branch of the Naval Historical Center have been repeatedly searched, but no documents have been located which confirm the event, or any interest by the Navy in attempting such an achievement.

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) has stated that the use of force fields to make a ship and her crew invisible does not conform to known physical laws. ONR also claims that Dr. Albert Einstein's Unified Field Theory was never completed. During 1943-1944, Einstein was a part-time consultant with the Navy's Bureau of Ordnance, undertaking theoretical research on explosives and explosions. There is no indication that Einstein was involved in research relevant to invisibility or to teleportation. ONR's information sheet on the Philadelphia Experiment is attached.

The Philadelphia Experiment has also been called "Project Rainbow." A comprehensive search of the Archives has failed to identify records of a Project Rainbow relating to teleportation or making a ship disappear. In the 1940s, the code name RAINBOW was used to refer to the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis. The RAINBOW plans were the war plans to defeat Italy, Germany and Japan. RAINBOW V, the plan in effect on 7 December 1941 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, was the plan the U.S. used to fight the Axis powers.

www.history.navy.mil...

I read the above document as the Navy acknowledging it happened without officially acknowledging it. I enjoyed their mention of the "science" behind it... I wonder where they got their information?

Regarding the location of the USS Eldridge as of Feb 1996 (the alleged ship):

Due to the ship's logbook, which I have seen, the USS Eldridge took part in the Normandy Assault in 1944 and then was given to the Greek Navy...so it was and, believe me, still it is sea worthy! Now the ship is located in the Suda Bay Naval Station in Crete.

I have visited the ship three times, the commander and first engineer are very close friends of mine, and I had the opportunity to have a look in the ship's logbook. I can assure you that the pages of the time of Philadelphia Experiment are missing, someone cut them out from the logbook.

Also inside the ship are a lot of wires that do not go anywhere... they just exist and give the ship engineers a big headache until they realized that this wiring were the remains of the experiment's machinery.

A few things that I know about the Philadelphia Experiment:

Project Rainbow was originally initiated ostensibly to create a radar cloaking or radar stealth capacity for warships (there is evidence this in itself was a coverstory for another purpose of the experiment). At least one source I have read indicated that this project was originated after the US government saw some of Nikola Teslas early experiments, and he did offer some technical information to the military, including some weaponized technology. (I believe it to be very significant that Nikola Tesla is never officially named anywhere regarding this project)

Somewhere along the way of rigging the Eldrige, Tesla got into a disagreement with the military and wanted out of the project. They did not want to release him from the project, and he intentionally detuned the coils on the Eldrige, making them malfunction (just wouldnt turn on essentially). Thinking he was unreliable, the Navy released Tesla. Navy scientists then attempted to retune the coil system on the Eldridge. From what I know, the incident in Philadelphia Bay was NOT the actual experiment, but an accident that occurred as they were attempting to power the system up for fine tuning. (Think about it, would you run a super classified experiment in a high traffic bay??? With witnesses all over the place????)

Project Rainbow was later relocated out to sea where the experiment was conducted out of sight of prying eyes. The results from this experiment are unknown, but must have been positive as they were later continued at Camp Hero, Montauk Point, NY, at the old Naval Radar site. The radar antenna was apparently used as the original transmitter.

There are many different threads regarding Camp Hero, although I believe it to be fairly obvious that this line of experiments and technology led to what the US and various other foreign governments now have in operation as HAARP or other scalar technology.

I agree, the Navy can disagree all they want, but then they admit to being affiliated with the HAARP program in Gakona.

Think about it, if we can harness this new technology and then suppress the disclosure of it to the population, we OWN the technology. In other words, Tesla's contribution to science has been dramatically (and intentionally) diminished from its potential.

Then we make a weapon out of the technology, and classify it due to "national security".

The main problem with Scalar technology is that it doesnt have to be hidden to well to effectively disappear from the public eye.

Only a very few people actually understand the operating principles of Scalar technology to understand the weaponized potential of this technology. The vast majority of the population is not so technologically inclined, and therefore it is not hard to pass the project off as "research"... Although I would imagine that people would start asking questions if they understood the vast amount of money being expended on these projects compared to other research projects that DID lead to tangible results...

I've heard a rumor that one of the 'witnesses' of the Philadelphia Project said that, as a result of what happened in WW2, that at a specified time in the then future that a major electrical disturbance would occur. The date this person set for the problem was, supposedly, the same as the day of the recent blackout (which is still unexplained). Is this remotely true? Is it even believable within the conspiracy genre?

I don't know. I don't even know if it was the USS Eldridge. And I don't know if invisibility was the goal. Tesla was 87 in '43, way past his prime to be working on any special military project.

What I do know with 50% certainty is degaussing generators were used. I imagine this means the creation of a rapidly rotating magnetic field. This could produce a very powerful current in the local enviroment thereby causing acceleration and displacement of the local reference frame. But surely everything would fry in the field, unless other generators were used simultaneously, thus creating areas of cancellation or null zones, much in the same way as with sound engineering.

That is of course if that is what a degaussing generator does. I only say that because Tesla was experimenting with magnetic fields of high intensity and high frequency.

Do you understand what a boom it would be to the Navy if they could degauss a ship? The NAZIS used magnets in their torpedoes to assist in their guidance. If you can degauss a ship, you can essentially force the torpedoe AWAY from your ship, very much like a magnet runs from a polar opposite magnet. Also, undersea mines are rendered useless! Is it any wonder the Navy would want this, especially in 1943? Why read beyond that??

Here's what I found on the U.S.S. Eldridge:

ELDRIDGE

John Eldridge, Jr., born 10 October 1903 in Buckingham

County, Va., graduated from the Naval Academy in 1927.

After flight training at Pensacola, Fla., he served at

various stations on aviation duty. From 11 September 1941

he was Commander, Scouting Squadron 71, attached to

aircraft carrier WASP (CV-7). Lieutenant Commander

Eldridge was killed in action in the Solomons, 2 November

1942. For his extraordinary heroism in leading the air

attack on Japanese positions in the initial invasion of the

Solomons, 7 and 8 August 1942, he was posthumously awarded

the Navy Cross.

DE-173

Displacement: 1,240 t.

Length: 306’

Beam: 36’8”

Draft: 8’9”

Speed: 21 k.

Complement: 186

Armament: 3 3”; 3 21” torpedo tubes;

8 depth charge projectors;

2 depth charge tracks;

1 hedge hog

Class: CANNON

ELDRIDGE (DE-173) was launched 25 July 1943 by Federal

Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co., Newark, N.J.; sponsored by

Mrs. John Eldridge, Jr., widow of Lieutenant Commander

Eldridge; and commissioned 27 August 1943, Lieutenant C. R.

Hamilton, USNR, in command.

Between 4 January 1944 and 9 May 1945, ELDRIDGE sailed

on the vital task of escorting to the Mediterranean men and

materials to support Allied operations in north Africa and

on into southern Europe. She made nine voyages to deliver

convoys safely to Casablanca, Bizerte, and Oran.

ELDRIDGE departed New York 28 May 1945 for service in

the Pacific. En route to Saipan in July, she made contact

with an underwater object and immediately attacked but no

results were observed. She arrived at Okinawa 7 August for

local escort and patrol, and with the end of hostilities a

week later, continued to serve as escort on the

Saipan-Ulithi-Okinawa routes until November. ELDRIDGE was

placed out of commission, in reserve, 17 June 1946. On 15

January 1951, she was transferred under the Mutual Defense

Assistance program to Greece, with whom she serves as

destroyer escort LEON (D-54).

[LEON was disposed of by the Greek Navy in 1991, but

she was retained as a training hulk.

“Naval Institute Guide to Combat Fleets of the World, 1995,”

p.248 (The “Guide” says the ex-ELDRIDGE became the Greek

destroyer escort PANTHIR (D-67), various “Jane’s Fighting

Ships” and “Conway’s All The World’s Fighting Ships,

1947-1995” agree with the “Dictionary.”)]

I do believe you are onto something there. A lot of wacky stuff was afoot then, and it is easy to romanticize about the world we wished for. But this makes good concrete sense. Not time travel, not teleportation, not invisibility, but plain old fashion strategic deterrence.

I can't begin to count the number of times a mundane system was streched way out of porportion to its original function on account of popularity.

BTW, I recall the Nazi subs were experimenting with some kind of extremely dangerous process of extending their range with modifications to their diesel engines. Something to do w/ hydrogen peroxide maybe. What a boon that would be if we could ressurrect the technology. Come join me Toelint alongside the richest on this planet!

The navy can and does build degaussing coils in ships. One nasty job, pulling degaussing coil wire.

This story originated in the mind of Charles Berlitz. A descendant of the Berlitz Language Course Berlitzes. The Charles Berlitz who invented the Bermuda Triangle and Spontaneous Human Combustion myths. A pathological liar, devoid of journalism technique.

Most evidence points to a test of degaussing, to evade torpedoes.
I seriously doubt a ship involved in teleportation experiments would be just given to a foreign power...

As for the ship actually disappearing, I'm more inclined to believe The ship's captain took the ship down the Chesapeak-Delaware Canal. If you're going to Norfork from Philly Harbor (in 1943) and want to dodge the defense nets (which SURELY slow you down) this makes the most sense. It would shave a two-day trip down to mere hours.

Yes, and now we can safely name that quantum tunnelling electrons do the Chesapeak-Delaware Effect

I have my fair share of doubt when I study these conspiricies. Because so many of them originate from uncredible sources and are twisted beyond recognition. I think of the kind of work we do here as finding the proverbial golden needle in the haystack.

Recall the Eltanin Antenna? It turned out to be a sponge.

This

which incidentally blew gaping holes in the whole Earth energy grid!

And Tom Bearden is unable to cite references to back up his claims for the whole Soviet scalar weapons scenario.

Those pictures of Nazi UFOs that supposedly Victor Schauberger was working on? Stolen from Henry Coanda. Truth be told Henry developed the first jet airplane in 1910!!

And lets not forget Alternative 3. Best hoax ever, the author admitted as much!

You know all those stories about the Hollow Earth? Guess who was a contemporary of H.G. Wells, none other than Edgar Rice Burroughs! You can read all about the Hollow Earth in his works!

Of course there is some grain of truth in all of these, but the way of mining it is wrong 99% of the time. I think our imagination is far greater than we give ourselves credit for. If we want to be real dragon riders we have to find the right way to ride our imagination and not the other way around, you know, the tail wagging the dog.

If you read Nick Cook's (Janes Avaition Editor) book Hunt for Zero Point he hint that Berlitz was introduced to the story fby 2 DIA agents who introduced him to a 'survivor' - he specualtes that this was done as dis-information to dis-credit the work of T.T. Brown whom Berlitz linked to the project, he carried work electro-statics and potential as a means of power flight - Northrup did some work on this in the 60's (in the white/grey world) and it is speculated that the B-2 has highly charged surface in flight this is said to reduce drag and possibly assist its stealth.

And one more thing, let's not forget the Area 51 fiasco. The truth comes out here (literally!)

So you see, there is a lot of cow paddy we have been fed for years, nay, decades. The REAL conspiracy is to keep the sheep ignorant, and dumb down the sharper knives with conspiricies and TV. The rest is baloney. Well, to be fair, not entirely, just 99%.
