well ya he is tottaly symbolyic being the keeper of the keymaker(sorta like the grail) and he has all these other important prisioners but then again it is just a movie

About the only thing I know of the Merovingians has to deal with the concept that they claim to have direct ancestery from the lineage of Jesus Christ & Mary Magdalene. Also, that there's "rumors" to the effect of some sort of secret society dedicated to the preservation of the Merovingian bloodline...

...That, and the theory that the "true Holy Grail" is not a reference to the Cup of Christ, but his actual bloodline.

Of course, any such "theories" that have to do with secret societies & conspiratorial groups are, by definition, "theories" anyway...Unless one happens to *be* a member of such a group to start with...
