and there was me thinking that i was a hero because i am 2/3 of the way to a four digit star count.

then you guys show up with millions and destroy what little is left of my soul... you have left me bereft of love, joy and any sense of morality and one day you will be held accountable...

It's well known that the peeps with > 1megastars are, well, Reptilians. It's the way you spot them.

I`m concerned about the rampant discrimination and prejudice against reptilians. They are a minority group that also has rights. If they`re our overlords, then its because they deserve to be.

They're making serious inroads in the hamster population. And those little pellets outside you thought were deer droppings? Reptilian poop. They're everywhere.

Discrimination against any race, culture or creed is a T&C Violation. Mods? Are you seeing this?

Just because the Reptilians have murdered and tyrannized the human race for thousands of years and committed the most shocking atrocities imaginable, doesn't make them less worthy of basic rights and to be treated with decorum (and possibly even reverence?)

Skyfloating and others from the golden age of ATS, I would suggest you write down your real number of stars someplace, and keep updating it, so if you suddenly go into the millions you will know your real number in case the computer glitch ever gets fixed. You can fall into that glitch at any moment (seriously) and gather as many stars that are in the sky, so record keeping on this one is essential if you'd like an accurate record.

I wouldn't care if my stars and flags suddenly fell to zeros. Gaudy baubles like sequinned denim jackets still wear out and eventually wind up in a landfill somewhere, but real personal achievements live on. I'd prefer to be remembered for those rather than the faux gold chains I seem to currently be wearing.

I've heard a case of Mondavi 04' cabernet, and a case of 15 yr. old Pinch scotch, can result in star creation....but, I've also heard a case of keystone beer, and a couple bags of flamin' doritos can do the same

Because of your post I've just spent a few minutes looking your paintings, and although some of them aren't my cup of tea, many of them are very beautiful. Nice work! Have you done prints (I didn't check comments or any writing, just looked at the pics)?

Is there any discussions with the coding people if this glitch, the star malfunction, will be fixed or at least stopped where it is now? Thanks.

hey, these guys with the stars, sit at their computers in dark rooms for hours each day, in coffee stained t-shirts and undershorts, with a 5 day growth of beard, hoping their wives and girlfriends quit coming into the room looking at them like they're nuts, and being pissed off that they won't do anything else. it's a lonely life for the enhanced Viagra-starred member....so to speak

I see your point, but I`m with masqua on this. Never really paid attention to how many stars I have. Its just an internet forum. I`m just a member.

The day they start converting stars to bitcoins I`ll pay attention again.

Do all the mods have the glitch?

FWIW, I earned every digit in my profile, one number at a time.. lol. Not everyone got glitched. I suppose I wouldn't lose sleep over it if I did see mine get skewed but it would be a bit annoying for the record the numbers tend to represent.

For my personal feelings on Stars and Flags? I think it's a great idea as a reference....but nothing more. If someone has activity but almost 0 positive feedback through S/F? Hmmm...That speaks quite a bit. (Or...then again..it may not. A reference, is all).

I think the real problem has come in from two directions. The people with the high numbers, in some cases, let that go to their heads and they come to believe their own B.S., so to speak. As if 'fame' equates to a cup of coffee at Dennys, let alone proof of knowing more than anyone else. The flip side are the people who come to look up to others based largely on those numbers and not on merit of the points or intelligence in discussions.

Either cause ends the same way, I think. An Ego the size of the Goodyear Blimp and the major downside of a positive feedback system.

Thanks for the compliment on my paintings and, no, there's no prints. Not really interested in selling them either.

As far as a fix for this glitch is concerned, I'm sure it's of interest to admin, but I'm starting to wonder if there is anything that can be done to reverse it back to where it should be. My guess is that the only way to do that would be to reset those accounts affected back to zeros. I'd be fine with that as would be some others, but I'm not sure everyone would feel the same way.

How about dumping the stars all together? It's been meaningless for months now ...
Setting back to zero would be defeating the purpose of them as much as leaving the glitch in place.
Just be rid of them .. and the 'Karma' which is based on them as well.
There are too many numbers under the avatars as it is.
Anyways, that's my input ... for whoever cares.

Wondering if a reset for each individual who wants one can be done with an estimated number, say your number of posts plus half or something. Some people like the stars, high numbers and low both, and I give them to new members who have none or only a few as a form of carrot and stick encouragement (for new members, even if I don't agree with their posts). On one thread I enjoy I don't think there is one post without a star, just the way we roll there. If nothing else this is a code-lovers dream, the fix to the problem. To me codes are like reading Chinese, interesting shapes but no cognitive understanding or meaning.
