We once stood together,
In an oasis of calm,
A place to avoid the weather,
To the chaos a prefect balm,
A place untroubled by the winds,
The scouring,
Pouring rain,
A place to heal our wounds,
To be insulated from the insane,

Now the walls are in ruin,
We stand in a bastion that fell,
Looking out across blasted plains,
Into a dust strewn hell,
The whims of fate conspired,
To crush,
And to rend,
That which no one may mend,
Peace is now history,
Harmony ends,

The harrowing leaves us empty,
The Fates leave their feast replete,
Their hunger has abated,
Now the destruction is complete.

Thanks to both of you!

The recent closure of various threads has me all clogged up with... Bleh, I suppose. It was a matter of time until I got wordy about it!

I just can't be doing with draining and negative energies which make me angry. So thank you True for putting into words how I too feel today.......

No problem!

It needed saying, and was said!

That is the ebb and flow of the site for you! You can miss an awful lot of threads just in one hour, if it is busy during the day, or if you are!

S&F

Hollowing and harrowing; I don't connect too easily or bravely, and I felt suddenly as if I were being judged for the tentative steps forward, found guilty and thus the doors slammed.

I didn't see this until now. I was rather shaken up when it happened, though! Thank you for your poem, and for being a friend to me here on ATS.
