"The search warrant was executed at Romanek's home and followed several tips that were provided by Homeland Security that were then investigated further by Loveland police detectives and the Northern Colorado Regional Forensics Laboratory," the press release says.

Stan Romanek, UFO Personality And Self-Described Alien Abductee, Arrested On Child Porn Charges

What do you think? His wife think this is a setup..

Last April, a search warrant was served. On this past Wednesday, a warrant was issued. Stan cooperated by turning himself in. The charge as far as we know (without having an attorney in place until next week) is of possession of...NOT distribution [of child pornography].

Anyone who follows Stan is already aware of the harrassment [sic], break-ins, hacking and remote access of our computers for starters that we have experienced.

It is our belief, that whoever has been accessing our system also left behind traces to verify the Office of Homeland Security tip that the police department received.

For those of you who live in fear and function in hate, please just unfriend us both and do not make this terrifying situation any worse with your ignorant threats and ugly statements.

We will be taking UFOlogy into the courtroom. We know that this has EVERTING [sic] to do with our being outspoken about the ET/UFO reality.

I think this man has a lot to explain..

Well I wouldn't discount this being a set up yet.

By god, I hope this is just a set up, not for Stan's sake, just the fact that it is prolifically wrong. If it is a plant, to have that kind of thing happen to someone, if they are not guilty of charges, is horrific. However, if he is guilty, then tough s***t Stan. I recommend we try to listen to what 'he' has to say whenever we can. As far as I know, he has not been stirring up any relevant trouble with the domino squad (black, shadow, elite WHATEVER) so it seems unlikly that someone from the hierarchy would randomly 'plant' anything on him. Unless he had something they wanted, or he was about to do something, they didn't like.

It is an very effective smear tactic that's without question, and in the digital age, digital obscenity associated with ease of delivery is an attractive proposition as a tool.

On the other hand, perhaps he is just a perv that got caught who happens to be involved in stuff the government would rather keep out of the public mind.

It does happen.

Also, isn't this the second or third thread on this subject?

The thread may be true, the hose option from the navigation bar took me to this post. I agree completely with you on this subject MysterX. It would be a question of why, should the pervy'ness be perverted...

That old chestnut? One would have thought "They" would have some new tricks up their sleeve by now!

Then again if it works why change a good thing!

This was covered in an earlier thread

As I pointed out to all the hang-em-high folks there, this is a common tactic of TPTB. It was exactly what they used to shut-up the late Col. Wendell Stevens, another prominent UFO researcher. Again, Stan publicly documented multiple break-ins of his home and intrusions/hacks of his computers going back to the early 2000's. Knowing as he did (and documented) that his computers, person and home was under surveillance, why would he ever allow child porn on that same computer? You would have to be an exceptional moron to do something like that. From what I know, Stan was aware of what was going on and far too smart to make that kind of mistake. IMHO, this is an obvious smear and the timing meant to de-rail the upcoming release of his documentary.

All true.

And we all know that 99% of people mostly believe what the propaganda box and papers tell them to believe, so even if he didn't do it and was setup by tptb, he is going to be guilty in the eyes and more importantly the minds of the majority of people, who will forever associate his name with his 'crime', and so the association of his name to his assertions about ET and UFOs will be ignored in favour of the 'crime'..we all know how this works.

But as i say, it could also be alooked at from another angle...Stan, knowing he 'has an out' in the form of reported hacks into his computer, his home and his life in general, may have thought he could get away with all sorts and people would believe, due to area of controversial involvement and his already reporting to the world he had been hacked etc..

It's possible either way...that also adds planting digital 'evidence' to the effectiveness of it as a tool to smear with though.

I suppose the bottom line would be, if you are going to go against and take on the establishment, don't own a computer or digital device capable to downloading illegal porn.

Short of doing that, you're alway going to be potentially suseptible to this kind of tactic.

He served time for molesting minors and possessing material related to sex with children - film and photos. He pleaded guilty to the charges. Following his release, he continued to tour, release books, promote the hoaxer Billy Meier etc. It's not very clear to me *how* his prison term impacted anything he did?

Is it not likely that he (Stevens) pleaded guilty because he had indeed had sex with minors and did indeed keep child porn?

What exactly did Romanek or Stevens ever say that would warrant a frame-up? If we're honest, every word published by Stevens or Romanek remains available. There's no obvious incentive to smear either of their reputations when everything they ever claimed remains.

Your point of view is that Romanek listed numerous invasions of his home by unknown people and therefore it's likely that *they* planted stuff on him. My point of view is that Romanek made up all of his stories and therefore the invasions were fabricated to add glitter to his reputation.

When a powerful State or agency wants someone out of the way, it's a damn sight easier, quicker and cheaper to have them killed.

ETA - J Allen Hynek and many more made far more noise promoting UFOs and ufology than Romanek or Stevens and yet they never attracted these types of charges. Seems all very selective - 2 dull proponents out of hundreds?

If he had some ground breaking, earth shattering info that would be worth shutting up then i would be suspicious. But it seems hes just a sick person.

In fairness to all viewpoints, what you have said could well be correct...hands up, he did it and plead guilty.

On the other hand, if i were sat opposite a federal prosecutor who promised me if i didn't plead guilty he or she was going to move hell and high water to get me put away for 50 years in a hell hole somewhere, or take a couple of years suspended and some kind of sex-case councilling sessions for a year or two after, guilty or not, i would probably take the smear and the suspended sentence.

Most people would.

On the subject of their words still being 'out there' and available, it is now out there and avilable with an associated attachment, and a kiddie porn sex case attachment has a way of diminishing whatever else they have said or done.

But again, perhaps they were indeed as guilty as sin.
