All I can chime in is: Be very vocal in your care. I went through a health nightmare last year and it was amazing how much noise this shy, quiet girl had to make. Nearly two weeks in hospital just to get a diagnosis, I literally had to chase a doctor through the hospital with my nurse in tow after threatening to pack up and leave. If it wasn't so serious and expensive it would have been comical.

I am extremely vocal (far from quiet and shy) lol to the point my last doctor dropped me with no warning. Fine with me, shows they don't care nor do they like when someone questions them. I felt like he thought I was there to get nothing but meds from him and I wasn't. It is annoying because so many doctors assume you are just pill shopping esp here in FL because sooooo many people are addicted to pain pills. I have told every doctor I see I do not want any narcotic. I don't like them. If I am given something and it doesnt work I do not take. I don't see the point in taking something if it isn't working. I have a medicine cabinet full of meds that I was given that do not work.

The doctor I am seeing now so far seems alright. She listens and knows I will ask questions and will question what she says. I have an appointment with another doctor next month that I will keep to get another opinion on things because I feel like the MRI results really are related to my headaches esp since none of the migraine meds work.

Let's just say the more pain you are in, the easier it is to make an ugly fuss. Make one. Nail your doctor down point blank with how the money you spend is going to get you results and relief. Demand an answer or options. It's their job. I hope you manage the healthcare gauntlet and are enjoying life again soon so you can focus on your baby!

It sure is a gauntlet! I so don't remember this much trouble the last time i Had insurance. It is really weird now. If you ask questions hey seem to look at you funny. My sons doctor gives me a hard time too when I question them on vaccines and other things. It seems they are not use to people questioning them.

If you even raise your voice while demanding something they get all huffy and say "don't yell at me," UM since when does voice tone equal yelling? I was like if you want me to yell at you I will. I will not kiss anyones rear. I PAY YOU (not you) the doctor so I want answers. We have shelled out so much money since August and I am in no better shape than I was then.

I hope this doctor I am seeing now does something more than what I have experienced. I will stick with the other appointment I have with the other doctor for a more opinions and I will see a neurologist as soon as we can work out the $400 out of pocket cost up front.

Thank you

Oh hon, I'm so sorry to hear you have been going through all this, especially at a time in your life when you should have the most happiness. I have to agree with others, that you need to seek out a chiropractor, and get an opinion from that avenue. I sincerely hope you find relief that way. I fear for you, using other alternative therapy to cope with this. I remember years of your bubbly personality gracing ATS,and I have noticed the difference in you. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road, and you get back to your old self soon...only better!

I asked about a chiropractor and have been advised against it til I see a neurologist and with the disc issue in my neck it makes me VERY nervous to go to a chiropractor. I mean is it even safe with bulging discs to go to one? I'd like a massage but insurance won't cover that but it does cover a chiropractor and acupuncture which is odd since it doesn't cover massage. Weird. lol

As for the alternative, well it works and it isn't harmful and I can function. I've used it in the past for pain management. I just seem to have negative reactions to prescription meds and when DEATH is a possible side effect or heart attack then I am not really inclined to want to take it. It just freaks me out. The last pain pill they gave me made my heart race so fast it freaked me out. I was told "oh that is normal" and that it would go away in time or they could give me another pill for that. Well no I don't want to be on 4 different pills for one thing.

I was told to do yoga which I tried and it is something i have to get use to. I am not use to sitting still lol but I think it would help. If that is all I have to work with right now I will do it. I've tried SOOO many at home remedies to get rid of my headaches. I even put cayenne pepper dipped in warm water up my nose on a q tip. lol It honestly helped the headache but I had a burning nose lol so yea I'm pretty desperate..

Thanks. Hopefully soon I can be back to myself because honestly those around me have said I'm not myself. I don't even cook like i use to which is a big sign for me. I can't stand up long enough to enjoy it because the pain is too much.

I agree that with the disk issue,a chiropractor might not be the best option. I believe another member suggested seeking a specialist for that,a surgeon....scary,but not as scary as getting worse. I feel for you my dear,as I cannot even imagine a typical day for you. I can only remember a pregnancy that gave me migraines for three weeks straight, and I had little ones to tend to. Worst hell I have been through physically with the exception of a horrible kidney infection. I cannot even fathom having it go on for months with no relief. Were I in your shoes,I would definitely keep trying, anything, everything. Most of all seek out a professional opinion,( not your regular doctor),and get some advice about if fixing the disks will get rid of the headaches. I hope so. ((((Hugs)))

Some things that might help you to clear your sinus's learn about Jala Neti also you could boil some distilled water turn the heat of and hold your head over the water and breathe it in this should clear your nose cavity which should stop you having headaches.

To get rid of the pain you need to go and buy natural and synthetic phenylalanine any health shop will have it,

it will be called D phenylalanine and L phenylalanine

combine these two and it will remove the pain it will also start to work on the affected area this is about as non toxic as you can get

I would split the 2 pills up and combine them before you ingest them, add a small amount of water and rub a tiny amount on your skin to make sure you don't experience any reaction wait a couple of hours and if there is no reaction then take this remedy this will stop your pain.

For a more natural doctor you want to search in your area for a D.O. not an M.D. A D.O. goes to the same med school as M.D. plus some extra schooling on top. They can diagnose the same - write prescriptions - all of that.

The difference is basically this, example: you have high cholesterol. You go to your general practice M.D. The M.D. says "your cholesterol is too high - take this prescription!" and that's it. OR...you go to a D.O. who will work with you as much as possible to help you with lifestyle changes to lower the cholesterol yourself, without hard drugs. They will not make you make lifestyle changes, you will have the CHOICE to try to fix it yourself with their help, or to just take the drugs. If you aren't able to do enough to get the cholesterol down and you have to take drugs, you will know that you did all you could.

It is a lot more interactive with the patient and I am not rushed at my D.O. Also, there is staff on hand for chiropractic work...and it's NOT a scam. I highly recommend you that you first do your own research to confirm what I am telling you, then search for a D.O. close to you and seek help there. Good luck. I also have the migraines and I feel your pain.

The first thing is a retention cyst of the left sphenoid which I have been reading can lead to MIGRAINES/HEADACHES! Gee red flag anyone?! Yet to the doctor this isn't a concern

Ummm yeah, you think? having had this in the past, I know 100% for a fact the kind of pain it causes and the fact that the Dr. should be concerned. Mine got me into surgery right away as there really isn't any other treatment and doing nasal isn't a good idea as the cyst and cause the fluid to get trapped and not drain.

Also never ever use straight up water to rinse your sinuses. you can cause the cells to literally drown. There must be a perfect ration between baking soda, salt and water. too much salt and you can burn the sinus. Unfortunately, it has been several years sense I made my own and don't remember the ratio as I buy premade packets now. But as I said, I don't recommend it until the cyst has been removed. I have been down that road, and it isn't pretty.

The cyst, depending on the size can put pressure on the brain and can distort the size and shape of the sinus cavity. My cyst Resulted in a deviated septum.

You can use Afrin up to 3 days in a row to help shrink it but always take a brake after 3 days.
