A Clarion Project investigation has discovered a jihadist enclave in Texas where a deadly shooting took place in 2002. Declassified FBI documents obtained by Clarion confirm the find and show the U.S. government’s concern about its links to terrorism. The investigation was completed with help from ACT! For America Houston.

The enclave belongs to the network of Muslims of the Americas, a radical group linked to a Pakistani militant group called Jamaat ul-Fuqra. Its members are devoted followers of Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, an extremist cleric in Pakistan.

Exclusive: Islamist Terror Enclave Discovered in Texas

I don't know what's more news here, the fact that this "Clarion Project" found this place, or the Clarion Project itself...

Obviously we have all been waiting for some time to fond out what the next "terror attack" would be, or come from, and now, conveniently we have the Clarion Project who's motto is:

Challenging Extremism / Promoting Dialogue

Who comes along and points a very very long finger at these people in Texas. Now I am far from saying that the group mentioned in this article are good people, nor am I doubting that they could potentially be terrorists, or be up to no good, we simply do not know for sure, but... and here's the but.

Why now?

Who is the Clarion Project "really" and not just what they say on their page and in their About Us? Why is "this" group being singled out at this point in time... ??? What's going on that we have to once again be hyper vigilant about a terrorist group being right here in the United States?

Seems like a pretty ballsy move to set up shop in Texas of all places... I'm just glad they found this group.

Star and flag.

There are "Muslim" enclaves all over the United States. Most of them set up in far out of the way places. I know some have been abandoned or moved as well. This is not the only group.

And wasn't there that town out west that some Neo-Nazi tried to buy out and set up his own town of like minded people? I believe that he was shut down before he had the chance however.

The Clarion Project looks like a scaremongering group.

The Clarion Project (previously the "Clarion Fund") is a nonprofit organization led by U.S. neoconservatives and rightwing Israelis that produces alarmist films and publications aimed at hyping the threat of "Radical Islam."

Clarion Project

Seems they are trying to drum up fear ahead of the Texas primaries.

There was a story about one trying to overthrow an island in the Caribbean, but part of the deal was set up by a jew that stole all the money.

Sounds like a bad joke, I know…

From their own website:

"Founded in 2006, the Clarion Project (formerly Clarion Fund Inc) is an independently funded, non-profit organization dedicated to exposing the dangers of Islamic extremism while providing a platform for the voices of moderation and promoting grassroots activism."

I think that may answer a few things. They seem to be out to push the extremist agaenda again and keep everybody looking under the bed for the boogey man...again.

The last time there was an "enclave" in Texas, it was Waco and that didn't end too well for most parties involved.

Wait a moment!!!!!!!!!!!!! stop the presses!!!!!!!!!!!!, I mean the online media,(this days), and you are telling us that some kind of private invested organization discover a "terrorist camp"? in the US, what happen with the all spying agency call NSA, really what in the hell is going on, NSA is spying on everybody, (in the name of national security) and they have a billion if no trillions of tax payer dollars invested in their facilities and they could not find this "terrorist camp"?

Really, doesn't this should be the priority about this OP news? what in the hell is the NSA doing this days beside spying on innocent Americans, or that is all the job they have.

America has been infiltrated by radical groups is been going on for years, but like those illegal immigrants that crosses the border and been rewarded for braking the law so this enclaves get their privacy and rewarded so they can train terrorist.

And doesn't that alone should be the main news here.

Are we safer today than yesterday?

History repeats itself:

1600's it was witches

1950's it was communism & McCarthyism

Post 2001 it is now the muslim extremist because apparently our government isn't so concerned with communism any longer

I'm not saying these people were OK or that they were not plotting something nefarious but we should be very careful of 3rd party groups whose dedicated cause is singling out one type of people.

Next time it could be you

I live in upstate NY and about an hour and a half south of me, basically half way between here and NYC, there is an enclave that is all but ignored by law enforcement leaving them free to practice and enforce Sharia law in their little community. Its all muslims but i still find it interesting that its allowed to happen. its almost as if people are so afraid of being seen as racist or prejudiced against Muslims that they'll let them get away with nealy anything short of murder. Did I mention that they also have their very own training camp there as well? God bless amurika!

And wasn't there that town out west that some Neo-Nazi tried to buy out and set up his own town of like minded people? I believe that he was shut down before he had the chance however.

Yes, it was in North Dakota I believe. They bought up a ton of property with the intent to move as many like minded people in to the town and pull a defacto coup by bringing in enough outsiders to push any vote in their favor as they start stacking the deck w seats allowing them to create any number of crazy laws they see fit. It's a scaled down racist version of how corporate America buys congress.

Maybe there was a Youtube video they were offended by? If so, Obama will be around soon to apologize.

They haven't officially been designated as terrorist apparently. I would assume that the feds have informants in there, if they have any reason to suspect something sinister is going on. Obviously they know about the whole place.

I read the article and didn't find anything to out of the ordinary, 5.56 casings and shotgun shells aren't illegal if none of them are felons. The only thing I find suspicious is the counter terrorism book, which I suppose could be used to counter-counter terrorism (detection avoidance?). If true, that could be a red flag (in my opinion).

I believe that there is one in Idaho and another in West "By God" Virginia of all places.

Then you also have Dearborn, MI. The list goes on with exactly the situation there as you have described.

Thanks, you know the hypocrisy of the American government toward real dangers to law abiding citizens is staggering, they turn a blind eye when it comes to what goes on behind this enclaves and other facilities around the nation, but they have no problem spending money to spy on regular citizens.

Sometimes it makes you wonder about what kind of government we have and how their assign priorities.

I think that was my point, why now is this group suddenly (if they haven't done anything wrong) being "outed" by this organization that's sole purpose is to root out Islamic Extremism???

Something doesn't seem "quite right" about the whole scenario, and I have to agree with Marg, the NSA spends MILLIONS every year spying on all of us and this group has been here for how long and they didn't pick up on it but some "concerned private organization" did?

Something smells rotten..

Southern Poverty Law Center labels the "Clarion Project" for spreading islamophobia.

Billionaire Sheldon Adelson funds the group. It was previously called "RadicalIslam.org" but came under constant fire for fictitious stories of "Islamists at our doorsteps" fearmongering.

The Clarion Project – previously known as the Clarion Fund – is notorious for producing several wildly Islamophobic films including Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West and The Third Jihad. It’s latest film, Iranium, argues for war against Iran.

Anti-Muslim group leaps to defense of American Islamic Congress after EI exposé

Both AIC and the Clarion Project share many of the same anti-Muslim donors, including Sheldon Adelson, the Casino magnate who believes Palestinians are an “invented people,” and is the main bankroller of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as a massive donor to the US Republican Party.

About Sheldon Adelson;

From: “The Net Effect of Being an Islamophobia Industry Affiliate”

Sheldon Adelson – The Money Man

First, let’s ask this question: Why would any Muslim or Muslim-group willingly take money or support from Adelson – the world’s 12th richest person, who famously said this? Or what about the time he referred to Palestinians as “an invented people?”

In fact, Sheldon Adelson is infamous for being the single-largest purchaser of influence in American politics– and he readily admits as much. It is a known fact that his key reason for donating eight-figures to Newt Gingrich was to influence the national conversation on Israel. So, when people come to defend beneficiaries of the casino magnate’s money as some sort of glorified bank transaction – they are being disingenuous. Sheldon Adelson’s money ALWAYS comes with a price.

Not only does the billionaire channel his immense assets in the area of promoting pro-Israel policy, he also channels it toward spreading anti-Muslim paranoia. This is done via his Clarion Fund – which has produced anti-Islam propaganda films such as “Obsession” – which was distributed widely in newspapers nationwide. The Clarion Fund made a follow up a few years later entitled “The Third Jihad,” an agitprop piece that outlines a scheme for a “cultural jihad” being waged on American soil using “Muslim Brotherhood front organizations.” We’ll talk about that film in just a bit – but let’s take a look at some of Adelson’s primary operatives for accomplishing his dirty work.

Now that you know who is behind the "Clarion Project" you can do your own research on Sheldon Adelson and his brand of Islamophobia.

I think last time I checked, there were 5 in Georgia.

I used to wonder why they let them exist, then after the Snowden revelations, I quit wondering and was happy they did. At least they know where they are, who they talk to, what they are doing, etc.

Woops, I am confusing them with citizens. My bad!

A 2006
Department of Justice report states
Jamaat ul-Fuqra “has more than 35
suspected communes and more than
3,000 members spread across the
United States, all in support of one
goal: the purification of Islam through
violence.” In 2005, the Department of
Homeland Security predicted the group
would continue to carry out attacks in the
U.S.

This is some old data, can't find the newer page I was looking at with updated information. This is the quote from a government study, however, when it was originally revealed.

Obama’s Billion-Dollar Giveaway to the Muslim Brotherhood

...that last Thursday, only one day before the “devastating” sequester cuts were scheduled to kick in, newly appointed Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the Obama administration will be giving $60 million to a group of Syrian rebels fighting Bashsar Assad. This hypocrisy was quickly followed up with an announcement on Sunday by Kerry that the administration will be giving Egypt’s increasingly anti-democratic Muslim Brotherhood government $250 million in return for promises of economic reform — which will rise to $1 billion if that reform is deemed successful.
