Tell him to tune into the sequel to his presidency...

The empire strikes back.

You're taking what he said out of context.

He means that it's not as easy as he proclaiming himself emperor and just creating laws or policy that the rest of us have to follow.

He's saying he has to use the existing framework, in this case I would assume congress and the senate to get his agenda passed.

Although that flies in the face of what he has been doing with executive orders and such, but I don't think you quite got what he was trying to say here.

He has the "pen" and has used it despite congress, ethical application of executive powers, and rule of law.

He's about as close to an emperor as a president can possibly get.

Context is irrelevant.

Which every other President has had as well.

See the above.

Context is irrelevant.

I can't continue a conversation with somebody who thinks 'context' in speech is irrelevant.

www.infowars.com...

Admiral claims whitehouse allowed al-qaeda affilliate to kill Chris Stevens. CIA could have stopped it but where told to stand down.
Sounds like what Dick Cheney did on 9/11?

I understand your perspective, and the context.

I see what you mean. He's just another president, like all the others....

I have reason to believe you are wrong, and in this case underestimating him is going to lead to a very rude awakening soon.

No conversation is necessary... Actions speak louder than words.

he should be an Emperor.

So you think we should get rid of the current system and make him emperor?

That he's just as corrupt and despotic as the last president? OR the one before? All the way back to before JFK?

Cause we already know that.

It's just annoying to see people take pot shots at people for either not understand what it is they said, or just for political brownie points.

Try quoting the whole sentence and it will make a lot more sense.

Oh yea. Congress and Senate. Forgot about those two pillars of justice.

Your assessment of the OP is correct, but the OP could easily say he was being sarcastic/ironic. LOL

Well played.
gave you a star just for brilliance.

If Obama were a republican, I wonder how these discussions would go?

Perspective is everything.

I would like to know how these discussions would go if he wasn't affiliated with any party.

Hmm, he's right only congress can pass the immigration leg.

House of reps- you guys worried about passing it? Among a few other things the people have asked you to do?
Yea? Ok get after it, amend and go pass it. Lets get congress some of that power back.

You'll be ok.

edit on 17-2-2014 by Nephalim because: sorry had to change that abbreviation, sounded ugly.

The "context" I see and hear is that Obama & Co. *Think* something is good and/or necessary even while the possibility exists that a majority of citizens do not.

He has done a horrible job of convincing on the merits.

In a way he isn't now.

If he wasn't affiliated with a party he would have been declared "unelectable" long before he could have ran for any office.

46 percent of the American People still think earth is 6000 years old.

There are sometimes, actually a lot of the time, when the people of any given country, are un-informed and quite frankly, stupid, in regards to certain topics.

That's why we hire people to figure these things out for us. I"m not saying I agree, but the court of public opinion is often filled with Kangaroos.
