Army office letter bombs: Northern Ireland link probed

Im touched apprently my town of Chatham was worth Bombing!

Seems a number of bombs were sent to Army recruitment centers round the south east of Britain.
Luckly the Bombs never went off.

But for a change its the IRA this time!

I always said Irish terrosits were smarter than muslim terrorists. Attack soft targets rather than go for the big heavly guarded places.

I used to do a few deliveries out that way. Very friendly ladies in the shops

Some of my friends who joined the Navy many years ago were based in Chatham. Is the navy still there? Were they affected by the bombs?

You get used to the 'bomb' alerts after a while...

I'd still be happy doing my shopping around the corner during an active security alert, hell I'v stood no more than 200 yards from an ongoing one ordering and waiting for a kebab at 23:00 a few weeks back. Police everywhere including the chinese next door, getting supper...

Sooooo...what you're saying is, there's been stuff going on that we haven't been told about, but yesterday/today they have had to make 'public'....interesting....

It's makes you wonder how many other packages are in the postal network ready to be delivered. It's a real shame that the IRA are continuing their pointless terror campaign. The timing of the packages couldn't of come at a worser time for the government and the emergency services in the South East of England as they are being hit with extreme weather and severe flooding.

All the time, except it's not tit for tat killings between the communities, it's the provisionals 'apparently' continuining the arms struggle.

But aren't the IRA banned/illegal/disbanded now? Is this some sort of other 'hard core' off shoot?
