SAN BRUNO (KPIX 5) – Video has been obtained by KPIX 5 showing a BART police officer who repeatedly used a stun gun to subdue a passenger in front of other riders.

A woman who witnessed the incident, who did not want to go on camera, told KPIX 5 the man was harmless and that the officer used the stun gun for no reason.

The video, which was taken on the evening of January 29th, begins with the BART officer giving the man a stern warning on a train at the San Bruno station.

What can be said that hasn't already been said about cases such as these? Here we have an officer approaching a man who he was told was harassing passengers. When the BART officer couldn't convince the man to "talk" to him outside of the train and his direct orders to leave the train failed, this officer did what most officers do these days, they pull out their stun gun.

A proper investigation is said to be on the way,
, yeah we'll see.

Cops, they stun first, ask questions later, well, unless you die first.

This is what happens when you don't follow their orders immediately.

Bullets? If it wasn't for the stun gun who knows, he may have been shot with a bullet. A lot of cops don't like to be humiliated in front of the public, and non threatening black man not following a cops orders clearly calls for the stun gun!

But cops abusing the black man in California so rarely happens.....

Seems this officer covered everything to make sure that regardless of what he did, policy would support his actions. At one point in the video I heard 2 contradictory orders. First he tells the man, "don't move or I'll taze you again." And he follows this up with, "move to your back or I'll taze you again." So no matter what this man did he was getting tazed again by this boy wonder with a badge.

BART policy states that a stun gun can only be used if the suspect poses an immediate threat of bodily harm to the officer or another person.

He had no right to use the stun gun in the first place.

Yes but they always seem to have ways of getting around that. All they have to claim is that in the video it shows the man posing an aggressive stance towards the officer thus causing said officer to fear for his safety. Even if that's not what the video shows it will still work for them. It's their policy which is why they are experts at navigating in and around it. So I have faith that this will be another case that ends with the officer being found to have done nothing wrong.

I'm waiting for the day one of these fascists gets curb stomped by the bystanders who have had enough of witnessing/being the victims of this kind of behavior.

They can say whatever they want but there's too many witnesses and national media coverage. The only that aggressive stance excuse can be used is when the officer ordered the man to leave and the man raised his hands in the arm in shock, but then he sat down which was followed by a taster. An unarmed sitting man cannot be considered a threat. The cop should have waited for back up and they could have just escorted him off.

Cops these days are way to quick to tase people, from little girls to sitting unarmed men.

Well at least they didn't cuff him, lay him on his front and then shoot him in the back... with a gun.

That's not going to happen. People won't interfere with authority figures but thank god for cell phones with cameras.

It'll happen one day. If an officer can be shot during a traffic stop while doing nothing more than his job, one can receive a beat down for being an authoritarian

You do know I'm arguing the same side as you right? I, like you, know this officers actions were excessive and in violation of their own policy. The point I'm arguing is that I have such little faith in the system, that I see this as yet another officer who won't be held accountable for his actions.

I bet this jerk-off is a real macho in the sack too. The kind of guy who gets hard at the idea of bondage, rohypnol, and rape.

I hear ya but what makes this case different is the attention it may receive, but we'll see if the national MSM outlets will run with this story, but chances are they'll follow Bieber or other non issue and beat it until its a dead horse and then beat it some more!
