I do believe that what we are witnessing is the origins of our very own 'Israel'/Palenstine' soon to be conflict.

Study up on American history that already happened. But the illegals didn't say God gave them this land but they did believe in manifest destiny.

So criminals are going to start acting in a more criminal way. Lets see how that works out. We need to clear them out for the sake of our country. They are driving down wages and over burdning systems

"Jobs American's won't touch"? With a unemployment rate this high, I find that hard to believe. If I was unemployed I would take any job I could... I'd rather work then not work, pretty simple...

I understand cheap labor, but I think most Americans that are unemployed will take what they can get, unless they are sucking off Social Security... Which is a HUGE waste of money because most people don't even need it...

You would be surprised at how many out of work Americans that will turn down jobs because it doesn't pay what they think they are worth. Go around asking people if they would take a job paying 8 bucks an hour outside doing manual labor for 10 to 12 hour days in the summer and see how many say yes.

Ending the war on drugs would fix SOOO many problems with this country it isn't even funny, but lawmakers don't want to touch that issue. Why implement REAL fixes when you can implement "fixes" that make it look like you are doing something but in reality either kick the can down the road, add more issues, or both? Case in point, immigration reform.

I hate it when PRO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION groups call themselves PRO IMMIGRATION groups!!! How dishonest! There is immigration. Then there is ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. They are not the same thing.

That is a really old cliche. Illegal immigrants do much more than take field labor jobs. They are all over as equipment operators in factories and construction. They are also electricians apprentices and in other trade jobs. So don't keep bringing this agriculture labor argument to the table every time we discuss ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. They take jobs that Americans want and by doing so they lower the wages that are paid to Americans in the industry that they are employed. Why should a construction company hire an American bulldozer operator when he can have an ILLEGAL ALIEN one for less money. One that he can fire anytime without worrying about the repercussions.

There wouldn't be any immigration problem if corporate greed and cheap labor weren't so intertwined.

Have something against free enterprise and capitalism?

What folks don't know is that a guy from Mexico making 8$US sends it home where that 8 has the buying power of better than 50$US. Now that is not the exchange rate, its the exchange plus the power of the paso once converted. 100$us in some parts of Mexico is worth about 1000$us. Not around the tourist traps for sure.

“What does Christianity mean today? National Socialism is a religion. All we lack is a religious genius capable of uprooting outmoded religious practices and putting new ones in their place. We lack traditions and ritual. One day soon National Socialism will be the religion of all Germans. My Party is my church, and I believe I serve the Lord best if I do his will, and liberate my oppressed people from the fetters of slavery. That is my gospel.” ― Joseph Goebbel

Just too see how true that comment was.

I would say the left has learned this all too well.

Wow I have no Idea that Switzerland, and Norway were so 'racist' !

Inspired by Switzerland’s immigration vote, which has infuriated the European Union, one of Norway’s ruling parties is calling for the country to hold its own referendum on limiting immigration from the EU.

On Sunday, Switzerland voted 50.3 percent in favor of re-introducing strict quotas for immigrants from the EU, thus scrapping the policy of free movement within the 28-nation bloc.

Sorry people who want to move to the EU you can't come here.

People south of the border has the 'moral authority'.

Illegals drive up the cost of everything, food, shelter, cars, fuel, everything...simple supply and demand, they ARE in every industry taking americans jobs for lower wages and WE have to train them...I do it myself, I have to train them how to do MY job, and one day.....Immigration is a huge problem, and causes a ripple effect that touches almost every aspect of your life in some way and most of it is negative or problematic. I could go on, but most see this for what it is controlled invasion on a small scale...tick-tock, now they want to show anger? where do the wimps sit to watch it all go down? cause I for one will not sit quietly on this no matter what our "leaders" say...

They just use "illegal" to show their hatred for all immigrants or thats how the debate goes down. lol

That is pretty equivalent to any racist statement I have EVER heard.

Let's just lump a whole group under one description.

I once was a Republican and I know quite a few republicans quite well. Most of them do not hate immigrants. I do not hate immigrants.

I also know quite a few Democrats, and the funny thing is I tend to run across more blatant racism from the Democrats.

Oh, sorry, Democrats cannot be racist, can they?

But your statement: I hope does not truly reflect your feelings. That would speak much about you and not in positive ways.

Hard to take a voter's opinion into consideration if they never vote for you.

And vice Versa. Because republicans only care about certain people, why would anyone who are not taken seriously by republicans vote for them?

edit: Why do republicans like to mix Illegal and Legal immigrations? always puzzled me. They just use "illegal" to show their hatred for all immigrants or thats how the debate goes down. lol

Ya know what ?

The usage of the word illegal is an adjective to describe an act of immigration that is

WAIT FOR IT!

WAIT FOR IT!

WAIT FOR IT!

ILLEGAL:

Whats the definition of illegal ?

illegal   Use Illegal in a sentence

il·le·gal [ih-lee-guhl] Show IPA adjective

1. forbidden by law or statute
2. contrary to or forbidden by official rules, regulations, etc.: The referee ruled that it was an illegal forward pass. noun
3. Informal. illegal alien. Origin: 1620–30;
< Medieval Latin illēgālis. See il-2 , legal Related forms il·le·gal·ly, adverb Can be confused: illegal, illicit (see synonym study at the current entry). Synonyms 1. unlawful; illegitimate; illicit; unlicensed. Illegal, unlawful, illegitimate, illicit, criminal can all describe actions not in accord with law. Illegal refers most specifically to violations of statutes or, in organized athletics, codified rules: an illegal seizure of property; an illegal block ( in football ). Unlawful means not sanctioned by or according to law: an unlawful claim to the inheritance; to take unlawful advantage of the trading situation. Illegitimate means lacking legal or traditional right or rights: an illegitimate child; illegitimate use of privileged knowledge. Illicit which originally meant simply “not permitted,” now most often applies to matters regulated by law with specific emphasis on the way things are carried out: illicit conversion of property; an illicit attempt to control the market. Criminal most often refers to violation of the statutes of penal as opposed to civil law. All felonies are criminal as are all crimes sometimes punishable by death such as murder, arson, and kidnapping: a criminal act.

dictionary.reference.com...

It has exactly jacksnip to do with race.

What was so funny ?

Labeling people 'racist' for expecting people to follow the law?

Wait...are you saying there wouldn't be an immigration problem if the Mexican corporations paid their employees more? Or if the US corporations paid US citizens more? err?

Or perhaps, there wouldn't be an immigration problem if ...wait: Generally speaking, Corporations do not hire illegals here in the US unless the illegal is in possession of illegally obtained documents.

Or...would there not be an immigration problem if Americans out of work took the jobs first? After all...if you illegally emigrate to a country and cannot find work then you would likely go back home, no?

Lots of interesting angles here

This whole statement is a bit of a cliche. I will agree that illegal immigration is a problem, HOWEVER:

These "illegal aliens" (why do I picture greys..??) who are employed in factories or corporate service jobs are using documentation that has been illegally obtained to get the job and are being paid the same not less.

Most of the time you see what you describe above are contractors and subcontractors. Their crews are all or partly comprised of illegals, and yes, often they have the illegal documentation as well. These are the illegals (amongst others) who are being paid less and taken advantage of the most. I questioned a roofer why his guys didn't wear safety harnesses, and his joking reply was that if one falls he is fired before he hits the ground....think about that for a moment. The employer who said that was latino and I am pretty sure all or most of his crew were illegal.

In the case of the corporate employee...their job will only be good for a year or 2 because sooner or later the IRS will be asking questions about why the SS# doesn't match the name, or there are 5 such individuals with the same SS# etc etc.

Making blanket statements without knowing the truth from the inside leads to all kinds of mis-perceptions.

I feel for the plight of the illegal who has come to the US to find work...unfortunately the shear numbers involved are creating all kinds of problems.

There is no doubt in my mind that amnesty without dealing with the border issue will just exacerbate the problem.
