Off topic, but I'm going on a limb and guessing that you have never shot a man have you?

One round of 5.56 NATO will drop a man. Same with 9mm. Same with .22cal


Utilizing a larger round to make up for a terribly trained shooter is not necessarily the magic cure.

Considering the very short range required in a house any calibre should drop a human.

The real danger from higher calibres is the through and through that accidentally kills or maims someone else.

Problem is that all calibres can go straight through sheet rock walls. Even a .22 can kill via a throat penetration and have sufficient power left to kill another. It is simply less likely.
