I know that they are not the norm as compared to the average person. Merely pointing out that it is 'their normal' and this is their life, and it seems a bit harsh to call someone a mistake of nature. Just sayin. No put-downs intended towards anyone who feels differently than that.

Well, from a scientific standpoint, something that does not do what it should is considered "abnormal." If a gene is dysfunctional or the genetic splitting did not occur as it should, then it is abnormal in that sense. I can see how one would not want to label someone as abnormal and I get your point, but duplication or subtraction of genes is not normal. Wouldn't you consider trisomy 21 (Down's syndrome) an abnormal condition?

As someone in the biology field it gives me a headache when people try to rewrite simple biological facts to fit a PC or new age mindset.
