Titan A.E is indeed a very good sci-fi. There are some other great animated movies in this genre...

Thx

Titan A.E. ticked a whole list of boxes for me, great animation, story, characters you name it, it had somthing for everyone. Rare anything covers so much.

YES! I loved the characters, and the story, and everything about that movie is awesome.
It was made during the final years of 2D animation... before all this crappy cgi. I don't care what anyone says, nothing will ever replace the style and feel of 2D to me.

Forbidden planet was probably the movie that got me interested in SCI-FI. I think I like the older movies because they relied on storytelling much more than special effects. Eye candy is pretty much every movie made today.....With the exception of Pacific Rim....I loved that one.

Blade Runner
Alien
Star Trek The Motion Picture
Silent Running
Close Encounters
The Thing
They Live

The classics are my favorites
The war of the worlds and the time machine. The originals not the crappy remakes.
Day the earth stood still, old one again.
When worlds collide.
The thing. Can't go wrong with either the new or old version.
Anything sci if filmed in black and white gets my attention.

So many good ones already mentioned. A question: Is is bad that I've seen 90% or more of these?

One I didn't see mentioned was a little gem from the 90's, called Split Second, with Rutger Hauer, and some British actor I can't remember the name of. Low-budget action/thriller. Kinda reminded me of the original Alien (mentioned many times). A little hard to find, but worth the watch, and one of the most memorable movie lines of all-time IMO. Figures, it's on youtube...

Did a quick skim through and didn't see "The City of Lost Children" with Ron Pearlman listed.
Very esoteric film.

Forbidden Planet is excellent.
There is not one iota of CGA in that film.
The sound effects and use of the Theremin
are enjoyable as well.

As far as all the others, I like them as well.

VID CLIP :www.youtube.com...

Oh Yeah, and of course the cult classic Buckaroo Bonsai.
I actually have the first comic editions 1&2 somewhere.

Bought them in the 80's . When we played the drinking game "Overthruster".

My gals love that everytime.

I have many favourite movies sci-fi movies so its very hard to choose just 1, so off the top of
my head here are some-
ANIME:
Redline

If F-Zero and Wacky Races had a baby it would be this movie.

Cyber City OEDO 808

A cyber punk anime classic. I recommend the UK dub because its the version I grew up watching and it has a rocking gritty soundtrack.

LIVE ACTION:
They Live

Keith David and Roddy Piper kicking alien a$$. What's not to love?

Moon

I love Sam Rockwell in this. This movie made me take notice of the name Duncan Jones and see him as a very important up and coming director than as just David Bowies son. Source Code was awesome too.

Today I watched When Worlds Collide. Those TechnoColor colors are really jumping from my screen and also loved the way people dressed in the 50's.

The last frame of that film, when they arrived on the new world shows two piramids in the distance and some made structures...

Does this mean there is a part two..?

Enjoyed watching it and thx to Wolfenz for the posters.
