Text are they really fallen angels? or perhaps they are the Gods of old and other mysterious religions?

Most people are not aware that most bibles say that the fallen angels are all in hell. According to the 1611 KJV bible and the book of Enoch, fallen angels are not demons nor are they loose upon the earth as evil spirits.

Revelation does tell us that there was a war in heaven --
Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

When most people read this they assume that angels are free spirits that afflict people but that is not true. Look at the words (into the earth).

Isaiah tells us that Lucifer is in hell -- Isa 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

The Urantia Book tells us that Lucifer and Satan et al. were the Evil Ones - higher spirits who were supposed to look after humanity's evolution of truth, but who decided to go against Jesus (Michael) believing they new better, so turned their backs on the Son of Truth, looking to their mind to 'Create their own Reality' - make up a life to suit themselves.

With Jesus' coming he technically terminated the Lucifer Rebellion, and at the same time, all the 'fallen angels' - demons, were stopped from being able to interfere with mankind - hence the Devil, Satan and the great Dragon - Lucifer and the fallen angels, were cast out into the earth. In fact the Evil Ones have all been detained on a sector of the seventh mansion world awaiting their judgement, whilst all the fallen angels have since redeemed themselves.

So we can understand that now there are no higher wayward spirits or bad angels that can negatively influence humanity. All we've got are ourselves, people who die and live in the lower Earth planes as evil spirits. And such 'evil spirits' we have plenty of currently on earth, who will no doubt when they die, also move into these lower planes still trying to negative influence people back on Earth, just as they are doing now.

Demon possession was a concept invented by scientifically illiterate peoples as an explanation for various mental and physiological effects, for example things like epilepsy, schizophrenia, tourette's syndrome, multiple personality disorders etc.

The term 'seizure' literally means 'seized upon' i.e by demons.

Modern medicine has shone the harsh light of truth on all of this so that we now have no need to believe in these silly superstitions. Of course, that doesn't stop some people..

Do you borrow money from the mob? That can be handled by a man. Demons? What in your life could possibly make you think you could match wits with a timeless being that HATES humanity?
