I don't have a stance. All I did was point out that both sides agreed to follow the terms of the TRIPS agreement and that the situation has played out in accordance to that agreement.

Of course there is no point in arguing, it isn't going to change the facts.

This is the typical discussion about patent rights.
Between CARE and GREED.
Between OMNI-CARING individuals and EGO-CARING ones.

In its basic essence, it's the controversy between socialism and capitalism.

I don't think you folks understand socialism. Look at Canada and France. They have socialist health care and the people are suffering.

Here we go again- I would like to know what the heck you are talking about? HOW are the people of France suffering??
I will not speak for Canada, as I am not personally familiar with it, but I have lived in France for more than twenty years, and had never ever had such great healthcare in the states as I have experienced here!

France has a multi-payer system, and you can go to any medical establishment or practitioner you want- unlike the american system where your insurance company dictates that. It can be state run or private.

I'm glad you posted on here! On page 1 someone from Canada had similar things to say about their health care. Every industrialized country in the world except the US has some type of universal healthcare and a higher standard of healthcare, if that does not prove to someone that the US is doing it wrong, nothing will change their mind.

Back in the 1980's Reagan warned about socialism in the form of healthcare, he said something about not being able to choose one's own doctor because of socialistic healthcare. The irony is because of the insurance companies restrictions in the US, we can only see doctors who are approved by our insurance company and that list changes every year. It is very common in the US for someone to have a doctor they like and have seen for years that will get dropped by their insurance policy and they have to find a new doctor that is covered by their insurance.

Big Pharma and the insurance industry are the reason why the standard of care in the US continues to drop.

Tensions over the Khobragade episode are yet to fully dissipate, but the two sides are locking horns again over intellectual property rights. The Obama administration is scheduled to announce unspecified ''trade enforcement action'' against India on Monday evening (Tuesday am IST) Washington time.

United States trade representative (USTR) Michael Froman and general counsel Timothy Reif will hold a news conference to announce action related to India, the USTR said earlier in the day in a head's up to journalists.

This is a major international issue. I am on India's side and hope they can successfully battle the beast we call Big Pharma.
