There should be a rule on ATS that any spider pictures need to come with a warning.

These are very cool.

Cool pics! Funny how well mother nature can give both adaptations for hiding and killing in the wild.

Nice find OP.

Pictures like these always make me think that there are no accidents, coincidences, flukes, etc. in the universe. Everything has a purpose and a reason for why it is the way it is. It's just unreal!

Just awesome.

The legs on the Common Baron Caterpillar are just too creepy! I am glad I have a full day to try and erase the image from my mind before I go to sleep again!

These are some great pictures...except for the spiders.

100% agree.

It's just amazing how nature adapts itself to its surroundings. It's all about survival. But how do they do it? God knows!!

Well it is kind of like this. The ones that were born which didn't blend in so well didn't live long enough to reproduce. Repeat that scenario for several million years added to the fact their life cycles are fairly short and walla.

Still amazing in a different way.

There all pretty cool.

But the two owl ones are definitely something, the second one looks like somebody took a chisel and carved an owl face into the tree, looking at it in real life you probably would not know if it was part of the tree or not unless it moved. Even if you knew its there, and considering owls have a habit of standing still without moving as they scope the area for pray, it would be freaky if you one day just noticed a pair of eyes in a tree just looking at you. Myths and stories have been made from less in past centuries.

That Desert Spider is about as good as como gets.

Unless you were specifically looking for it you would NEVER see it.

Well those camouflages weren't designed to fool human eyes that's why photoshop is needed. Human eyes can tell contrasts as well as colours SO... they dont work so well, thats why we can tell the slightest imperfection an call "something's there"... Those pictures are full of photoshop and photo tampering and editing... just the shadows of an object would pop to the human eye. Those were removed on most, if not all of the photos.

Nature or Man is yet to invent the perfect camouflage or cloak to fool the human eye.

The animal eye is done, nature took care of it.
