Workers at the Volkswagen plant in Tennessee are apparently in favor of unionizing.

A majority have signed authorization cards and a vote could be taking place soon.

It looks like job security in one main concern.

Another pressure factor is unions in Germany and other countries are eager to strengthen their presence on global work councils that apparently give unions a voice in management. Those councils are made up from unions in automaker countries. The absence of unions in the U.S. foreign auto manufacturers is looked at as a weakness in the global union efforts.

The union effort in Tennessee VW has gained popularity.

American labor leaders are closing in on a decades-long goal of organizing a factory run by a foreign automaker, thanks to a bridgehead opened up at Germany's Volkswagen.

While a vote has not yet been scheduled, the United Auto Workers says that a majority of the 1,700 workers at VW's plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee have signed cards asking for union representation.

A win at VW would increase pressure on fellow German automakers BMW and Daimler AG to open the door to unionization efforts at their US facilities.

Unions, jobs, and wages will be at the forefront of everything this year. Unions will swell and become strong. There will be scandals to discredit them and shut them down. Verbally you will hear of a push to increase wages . The reality is wages will drop significantly. US wages will drop due to imigration. Australian wages will drop to compete with work for the dole. More jobs will off shore with the TPP. By November both Countries will both have Australian and American Springs. Violence is comming.

Well here we go! Just two days after I said this The Australian Treasurer comes out and states we are heading for a finacial crisses equal to that of Greece. He has pointed the finger at the Australian Worker, and has blamed us for the financial mess. Yes the tax payer that pays his bloated wages, he has the hide to blame us for bank losses and factory closures. Why ? We earn to much.
He is creating a federal commision to reduce wages and cut tax funded benefits for families and the unemployed.

The seeds for spring have now been planted.
