Weird Ominous Commercial during Live Stream SuperBowl

I am watching the live stream of the super bowl on Fox's webstream, and a weird 5 second commercial came on right before the game returned.

The entire screen was covered by the British Flag, sirens and alarms were sounding in the background, then a single gun shot struck the flag near center.

Then the game came back on.

What the hell was that? Anyone else see that? Was that a commercial that got cut off?

Probably a teaser for the new Fox series, "The Strain".

It was a trilogy of books about a vampire take-over of earth.

A great series, by the way.

Looks like a lot of other people saw this too, it is mentioned on several posts on reddit.

Seems it has been shown a few times during both the web stream and televised streams.

I was watching the game live on fox, and I too seen a odd commercial. My gf and I both thought it was strange. It too was about 5 seconds long, but it was people running from a fire in slow motion and some weird noises or music. Kinda strange.

Maybe a teaser for Sleepy Hollow.?

After all in he series, Ichabob was a traitor.

But the way they left the season...it's anyones guess.

I was waiting to see if anyone here caught this. I don't have a whole lot more to add than that. It definitely caught my attention, and seemed ominous. I also find it interesting that Fox is streaming the game live, completely for free this year. Have they done this in previous years? You don't even need to sign up or make an account.

So other posts i have read describe a similar commercial, 5 seconds, just a gear rotating, people screaming in the background, then it ends.

Another version of the British flag commercial indicated they saw it end with the screen getting covered by flames.


Hopefully someone out there is recording this can get it online so everyone can watch and analyze and wonder "what the hell?"

Or was a commercial for 24 since that comes back, slightly different format, this spring/summer.

Thought i heard the classic 24 sound in there.

I'm watching right now from the UK on Channel 4.

All I noticed that was odd was the big red lettering at the start of the Half Time Show saying "PREPARE", or was I seeing things?

The half time show began with kids singing "every time i close my eyes, i see a different city every night" then "prepare...prepare...prepare" and the big red letters on the screens in the stadium.

Its most likely an ad for The Strain or 24..

I don't know why that is so hard to imagine.

LOL at the over-delayed shot from above the stadium overlooking the city with the "I love you messages", I was expecting something to light up!

I don't know about the commercial but way better half time show than last year.
