Academy Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in a Manhattan apartment Sunday, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The New York Police Department
is investigating with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine exact cause of death, though Hoffman was found with a syringe in his arm, according to multiple media reports quoting an NYPD source.

It would appear another film star is dead of a drug overdose. Hoffman won the Academy Award for his portrayal of Truman Capote in 2005. He had a history of drug addiction and rehab.
