RFI for Innovative Approach for Fuel Debris Retrieval

As fuel removal from spent fuel pool (SFP) at Unit 4 has started on November 18, 2013, “Mid-to-Long Term Roadmap (RM) on decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station” has shifted into the Phase-2.

The goal of the Phase 2 is to start fuel debris retrieval from reactor core expected in 2020. Necessary onsite works and associated R&D programs should be accelerated. From TMI-2 experience, retrieval of fuel debris is envisaged to be conducted by full submersion approach, in order to minimize workers radiation dose.

The latest RM, revised on June 27, 2013, emphasizes the importance to:

- Work to accelerate milestone by outlining RM of each unit,

- Plan innovative approaches considering the challenges of full submersion methods, and;

- Build strong R&D management foundation.

IRID was established on August 8, 2013 to strengthen capability of integrated management of a series of ongoing R&D projects, recognizing;

- Difficulties and complexity in dealing with unexperienced challenges,

- Necessity of multi-fold approach, including study of innovative method, and;

- Importance of international collaboration.

To ensure multi-fold approach as well as to enable technological breakthroughs, collective knowledge and experience via interactive platform is to be pursued. This will also benefit enhancement of safety and decommissioning of nuclear facilities all over the world.

The RFI on fuel debris retrieval is one of the IRID’s project that embodies our goal.

The reason for this Thread is because of the internal Files
of this Source,
there is great Info about the Plant it self,
good Graphics and Research links!

For everyone who is interested in Facts this is a good Way
to look behind the Curtain of Dis-Information and Dis-Traction!

Provide a lot of professional Material for a good research,
from Reactor Cooling, Contaminated Water Processing,
Spend Fuel Removable and Debris Management + more!

Is very dangerous to assume 'official' even remotely equates with 'accurate' or 'truthful'. They expect everyone to buy into their version and their version 'only' - fortunately for them, 99% of the sheeple follow blindly. Strangely quiet on the Fukushima news front, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the new laws and their 'official' outlet and is just a coincidence...

They are asking for assistance.
They are providing information so that those offering assistance can be well informed.
In these circumstances does it make sense to offer disinformation rather than the best information available?

It is quite only in the Pseudo-Blogosphere because they are running out
of Bs-Stories, Lies, Hoaxes and Drama, the more educated Sources are
busy as always!

The secrecy Law is not for F'Shima.

I am unable to see on the fdada website anywhere they're asking for assistance or accepting any offers - the title says they're an 'information portal for accident analysis and decommissioning'. The irid/rfi website says: The purpose of this RFI is to solicit information from industry, academia, and government affiliated agencies on issues related to designing innovative approaches to fuel debris retrieval, as well as to identifying technologies required to achieve the objectives.

Does it make sense to offer disinformation rather than the best information available? There already "is" best information and technology available that is not being used, the real question is "why" they aren't using it.
