I think what he was talking about was the USAF had it's hand in a few deep space probe missions.

The problem with that is it projects an image of whatever's on the other side meaning that from different perspectives it wouldn't be invisible.

Using a left handed metamaterial skin to bend light around the object on the other hand..

Time to make some phone calls to my buddy at NG. A few shots and beers, and maybe he'll spill some info :-P

Yes I believing you interpreted their message correctly, visible invisibility.

In 2007 an article that has since been purged with extreme predjudice talked about how stealth had moved into visual and microwave ranges.

Why bother, with half the earth in darkenss at any one time, noone can see you 50 percent of the time with the naked eye.

Actually; i got it wrong in my previous post. The first meta-material invisibility success was in the microwave (think radar) part of the spectrum, then IR (i think) then Visual.

OT: something pretty cool but nearly useless is they did develop a form of temporal cloak in the lab too.

I was thinking the same thing OP!! I actually saw this commercial a while back and telling some of my battles about it.
Pretty interesting, who knows what they got up their sleeves.
I actually went to the website to see if there was any new information on it, nada.
