I guess we'll see what happens when the bullets start flying. I'm not trying to force my opinion on you, I'm merely voicing it. If you'd don't agree, that's fine. I wish everyone luck and I hope we can peacefully avoid this situation. Because if and when the electrical, Internet and telecommunications grid goes off, I doubt American citizens will be able to organize themselves and mount an affective response against even the smallest military/police force. Even if our military refused to carry out orders, we have tens of thousands of cops just itching for trigger time. Not to mention the foreigners being trained on American soil to help with future citizen uprisings.

Again, this is my opinion. Its ok to agree to disagree you know. There's no need for silly name calling. We're all in this together.

A few more instances like that, and you'll be surprised how well behaved most of our unseasoned "patriots" become.

I better not feed the troll....

I'm a troll because I have my doubts about the military capabilities of American patriots? Name just one group which has been able to successfully fight current day American military and paramilitary forces. Just One. You can't.

No you're a troll because of posts like this..without citation or link.

Since when are Citations and Links, which are used to support a claim or fact, needed for questions? My question was

Name just one group which has been able to successfully fight current day American military and paramilitary forces.

I'm not interested in hearing your answer but my point is...What the hell does a link and citation have to do with that?

because if it is a real story that's what you do…provide a link. You're question came after that. If it isn't a real story it is a straw man argument typical of trollish posters because there are no facts.

Here's the real reality check:

The mainstream media is all over this. After completely ignoring the coming collapse of the dollar for years and years, they are now shouting it from the rafters---even using terms like "corruption."

What is so significant about this is that they see what is coming and they don't want to be chastised when it happens with people asking papers like the Financial Times "Where have you been for the last five years?" They know they'll either look like they were in on it, or that they were completely blind idiots---which of course they're not.

It is my belief that they were in on it and not just blissfully ignorant. So, this sudden concern they have about corruption in the markets and the Fed Reserve ponzi scheme is just blowing air and trying to save themselves and restore credibility.

To me, this whole scenario says: If the media is starting to broadcast it, there is recognition that it's really going to happen.

Not only that, but from a media point of view, you see these type of headlines almost everywhere now....Big Trouble Ahead..." "Collapsing Dollar..." I mean, it's just everywhere. Everybody knows now.

It's no longer a conspiracy.

Go figure.

ATS has known it for a long, long time.

You mean this story?:

" A large group of suspected armed rebels died tonight, in an apparent gunfight against para-military police forces. Authorities say they spotted the armed group in make shift vehicles, from a chopper with night vision, heading into federally owned property. When asked to lay down their weapons, the "resolved" rebels open fired. A number of unarmed men, women and children from the terrorist cell were rescued and taken to detention centers for questioning. Meanwhile, military forces have stepped up their presence in the area and strict curfews have been put into place. Authorities say they will begin canvassing the community and going door to door to make sure all dangerous weapons are removed from the community.

That was a hypothetical story used to communicate my opinion, a "future headline" not a REAL story. I thought that much was obvious.

This just in from twitter:

Dow drops 5% in worst January since 2009; S&P 500 dips about 3.5% and Nasdaq drops nearly 2%, both worst since 2010 - @CNNMoney

Looks like we are right on track.

Now add to this list that food prices will skyrocket later this year:

Officials in drought-stricken California said that for the first time in the state’s history, they won’t be able to provide any water to contractors that supply two-thirds of the population and a million acres of farmland.

The system serves households and businesses from the San Francisco Bay area to Southern California and irrigates crops in the San Joaquin Valley near the center of the state -- the world’s most productive agricultural region.

I always here people say they're going to head to the woods when TSHTF, but most of these areas are federal or state run properties. There will be choppers overhead Which will be able to spot a campfire from miles away. And as you, and your group, slumber in your make-shift tents for the night, you're going to be awakened and blinded by a dozen soldier/cops with AR-15's and flash lights. FORGET IT.

Remember how they were able to keep people out of the national forests during the government shutdown? Well magnify it a thousand times. There's going to be task forces patrolling the streets and enforcing curfews, day and night air patrols over all the state and federally owned lands.

Foret about roaming the streets looking for supplies too. Especially if your armed!

And if you so much as fire a single shot in your house, for ANY reason, you're going to have a swat team busting down your door, and you'll be handcuffed in front of your family and taken to a detention center.

Contrary to the Hollywood movies, it's going to be a quiet Country. Maybe sporadic shootings, but after people see how the police/ and military react, they'll settle down real fast.

So you have three choices. Stay in your community. Stay at a detention center, or die in a shoot out against the police and military. All this other rogue survival nonsense is fantasy.

You are reasoning like a good little sheeple, what if we are not! There are tons of examples in the world, present and past, of rebellious populations that are not controllable even when faced with far superior firepower. Think about it from the prospective of someone who so believes in freedom that they would say "give me liberty or give me death".

I'm not arguing the principles of fighting for liberty and i'm sure there has been limited success with citizens, violently, rebelling against tyrannical government, although I've yet to see any successful attempt against this current establishment. However, I'm simply pointing out my opinion that going barrel to barrel with the United States military and paramilitary police force is a stupid idea. I'm not saying that we should lay down our resistance and forfeit our fight.

In regards to "give me Liberty or give me Death", if you've never experienced putting your life on the line for what you believe in (like our military men and women) those words are backed by nothing but hot air. As soon as the first shot rings out, most of these 'brave' people will run the other direction like chickens with their heads cut off. Our military and para-military police are trained by the best. They're the very best at what they do. Or do you truly believe they can be overcome by a group of rag tag militants from Tennessee using nothing but HAM radios and rifles? Please....

You cannot win an outright fight against any force that has superior numbers. There we agree.

Today the man who remarkably predicted months ahead of time that the Fed would taper in December, and then again in January, warned King World News that people need to brace themselves for a disastrous global collapse and riots that will engulf the entire world. He also discussed exactly what will trigger and then accelerate this tragic collapse and ensuing chaos. Below is what Gerald Celente, founder of Trends Research and the man many consider to be the top trends forecaster in the world, had to say in this remarkable interview.

Eric King: “Gerald, so far this has proceeded exactly as you predicted, with the first taper in December and the second taper here in January. How bad will this get for the emerging markets?”

Celente: “This selloff in the emerging markets, with their currencies going down and their interest rates going up, it’s going to be disastrous and there are going to be riots everywhere....

Sourc e Kingworldnews

Well the man has made some accurate predictions.

Yah! More Doom Porn!

Facepalm.

Well I guess we had better get ready for this one.

Can't say I'm shocked, nor will I be if this actually comes to pass.

We've all been playing with house money for a long time, and eventually, it's going to be time to pay up.

No actually the debt of the US is Odious debt and not owed by the people but by the bankers and the politicians and their heirs. We will just 0 the debt and jail the thugs like Iceland just did.

The "house Money" you think you have been playing with is actually worthless paper, there is NO MONEY in existence in the US and western world at least , proven by court cases. So since "the bankers" didnt actually give anything of value, as no money exists, then nothing is or was lost except their pretend toilet paper, I mean Monopoly money, oh Im sorry I mean debt notes. There.

That is not what I was referring to. I'm well aware that our "money" is fiat currency. I'm talking about the fact that we've been juggling with no balls, so to speak. Sooner or later, the audience is going to notice, and stop clapping.

Well, FWIW we now have a third dead banker. These guys are beginning to drop at a pretty steady rate.
Former Fed guy too.

Russell Investments' Chief Economist (and former Fed economist) Mike Dueker was found dead at the side of a highway in Washington State. Police said the death appeared to be a suicide.
ZH link..

I think your post has been over looked. I'm reading news stories about this now. I wish these guys would leave a note describing what they see coming for us. Maybe they do leave notes.....and the authorities are burning them. Either way, that's the third banker so far this week.

Nothing will happen but whats already happening, a comedy of mis managed world economics tragedies where for one man to profit another must lose. Depending on how you view it, what is coming is not Global disasters but Global opportunities. I have watched Celente give interview talks, and he often reiterates the strong have nothing to fear they will rise and profit from the landslides of the markets. bring it on, I will profit.

I don't disagree with your thoughts in toto, but I do think we need to remember that law enforcement, especially local police and sheriffs, are residents of the local areas, with families who will also be suffering. While "duty" will call and they will respond for a time, if things get bad enough, they will take care of their families first. Of course, that reasoning doesn't necessarily apply to the military...

I really, really wish I had a well stocked fallout shelter and some survivalist training somewhere in a forrest but unfortunately for me I don't but yeah I sense it too and there have been some very bad omen's recently.
The weakening of our economy's and the misdirection of our military to look inwards will also make us a prime target for old enemys whom will become unfettered in there pursuit of WMD and then there will be no recovering the lost ground.
I think a war is coming.

I wouldn't waste my time and energy stockpiling too much # this time round.

At the most 3 months worth and that's it. If any disaster last beyond 3 months, nothing is going to save mankind from anything and everything, including itself. In fact i would say the worst enemies of mankind will be mankind itself.

I am a combat veteran and I have considerable experience putting my life on the line in war. I did not see a significant number of combatants on either side run as you speculate. Obviously you have no actual experience in such matters and you should reserve opinions to things that you have at least some understanding. And, regarding "rag tag militants", our revolutionary war was fought and won by ragtag militants against the most powerful military in the world at the time, ragtag militants control vast areas of Pakistan without challenge, ragtag militants in Afghanistan kicked the most vicious blood thirsty and powerful military's (USSR) butt and have frustrated the US military for over a decade. There are countless examples as I said before. Never underestimate the power of a motivated civilian population defending their homeland.

I have no doubt that a portion of the population would compliantly bow to their masters, however with a country filled with 300 million weapons and 100 million country folks who know how to use them any occupation would be a nightmare for them. Look in history to see what happened in Poland and France after the German occupation in WW2. There are currently over 20 million veterans in the USA.

No disrespect intended but I believe that you have not thought this out very well.
