NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) - Super Bowl XLVIII has been declared a level one national security event. Part of that security is to examine every item that is being brought in for Sunday's big game.

Why yes beer, and hot dogs sure are a clear and present danger to US

If only the southern border got that much attention!

Just think people!

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents will work around the clock to X-ray every delivery truck and any other vehicle authorized to enter the MetLife Stadium complex for anything suspicious.

Round the clock they say!

"We are xraying every piece of equipment, every cargo, every beverage, seat cushion, every piece of merchandise, food...everything that is going in the stadium has to be x-rayed before it goes in," Kevin McCabe, Chief of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency says.

They gotta be effing kidding ?

No!

What a colossal waste of resources, and money.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The new Homeland Security secretary says an earned path to citizenship for the roughly 11 million immigrants living in the United States illegally is a matter of national security.

Just when you think this administration can't get anymore backwards.

What a shining example! There's free reign for corruption this because it's in the "Constitution Free Zone".

What a colossal waste of resources, and money.

I can find a better one.

If the Republicans really want to talk about wasted tax bucks, they should be stewing about the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter warplane - the worst boondoggle in Pentagon history (current cost- $400 billion), a fleet that's currently seven years behind schedule, plagued by persistent software woes, key components that don't work (helmets, engines, you name it)...and a projected final price tag of $1.5 trillion. Which easily tops the entire GDP of Spain. Or Australia.

So, why are they not complaining?????

..they've actually created a Joint Strike Fighter Caucus (24 of its 25 House members are Republicans) to further promote the F-35? This, despite the fact that the F-35 project has flourished in what ex-Pentagon chief Robert Gates called "the culture of endless money."

The plane truth about wasted taxpayer money

So, just another case of Right Wing Hypocrisy.

You said all that was needed to be said when you wrote

I wonder what they will do, or not do, when they come upon an Illegal Alien?

ah c'mon....it took me less than a minute upon reading the article, to know why the border patrol is being used....IT'S FOR THE EQUIPMENT THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR, BY TAX DOLLARS!!!....it's for the machines that examine large trucks and semis at the border for contraband and explosives...how this possibly relates to immigration policy, or, "Obama bad", is beyond rational thought.

Yeah well In my humble it is a local, and state matter.

Not the Feds jobs, they have others they should, and need to be doing.

And how much tax dollars is being used to transport said border equipment to NJ?

They must be worried about counterfeit tickets or something.

Maybe they will identify and take notes on all the unlicensed counterfeit jerseys, hats, and t-shirts made in foreign countries.

Are passports and photo I.D.s required?

Still trolling I see

Have any opinion relevant to the topic being discussed ?

Like the over use of Federal power/agencies in every venue of American life ?

Border patrol...In N.J.? Maybe they're expecting the 30,000 illegal Syrian immigrants with their free thousands of U.S. tax dollars flown in by a Tenn. representative that didn't want to lose a paycheck to suddenly get jobs working at the Superbowl.

Ummm...do you realize how big of a deal the super bowl is nowadays?

It would be a prime target.

This is a waste of nothing. security at these events is important.

So now over 10 years after 9/11 this years super bowl is different then last years or the year before? Why now?
Do they have some inside info if so why put people in danger by letting them attend?

Just more wasteful spending by our government.

Yeah and ?

Doesn't justify acting like scared litle kids, and using over reactionary measures to 'feel' safe.

It would be a prime target.

I forgot them 'terrorists' are always out of get us! .

This is a waste of nothing. security at these events is important.

They can handle their own security.

Why are the American tax payers paying for security at the super bowl? This should be paid for by the owners of the football leagues after all it's not like they pay taxes or anything. Yes a 10 billion dollar a year industry pays zero taxes. Seeing our tax dollars being wasted this way is BS.
