I'm sorry you had that experience. I almost wish I could have been as idealist just to enjoy the optimism for a brief moment but I'm so jaded. I was in your engineer client's camp. I was surrounded by Obama lovers. Bush Jr proved to me that it no longer mattered who was President, that the position was now just the lead in political theater with the real power being privatized behind the scenes by TPTB (super rich/banks/ corporate/etc). But no one would listen. They were happily drinking the kool-aide. I only saw another but better well orchestrated puppet being propped up on stage. I've been a past member of both parties, then independent, then green just to support a 3rd party. I wrote in Hillary in 2008 just to be a bitch. I didn't vote in 2012. I feel guilty but what's the point anymore? Our country is now Pottersville. Where is Clarence when you need him?

I know a lot of people who voted for him. I was like your friend who gave you that look you only now remember. I felt desperate and wanted to shout "nooo" please check beyond the charisma. But I didn't. It was different than not just liking the candidate this time - it was suddenly too easy to get voted in - based on your power of manipulation. He said so many things that contradicted each other - so many, yet people were not truly listening.

We don't like the Sara Palen's who stumble - they get labeled "unintelligent". I only use her as an example - could be anyone who flubs up. We associate smooth talking with intelligence and trustworthiness. They could tell you the moon just hit the earth and people would believe it because the way they speak is entrancing. He's the ideal salesman. Don't feel bad - just learn from it and share with people. Teach them why it happens and teach how to vote critically (using higher order cognitive skills - no emotion). Are there tips for this anywhere? Someone must have made some up by now (checklist before voting).

A president also has to get the cooperation of others to make change happen. He thought he could win them over like he did the public but have you checked out how those in congress and senate just look at him at times - mouth agape - blown away by the narcism and inexperience (this is why I feel sorry for him). I trust our reps have been awake so let's ride it out and do our best to not repeat - as a team.

I am disappointed in Obama also but I do have to say that I believe his hands are tied by a force behind the scenes. If you could change things, how would you do them differently from Obama?

You still sound conflicted. In one sentence you say he was full of good intentions but the system and the challenges were too great. In the next you basically call him a wolf in sheep's clothing and a liar. Well some of us saw the latter right off the bat. Fortunately you didn't have a vote, but then again, votes in this day and age, mean nothing toward the outcome of an election anyway.

You should probably be worrying about your own shores. Seems there's a good bit of evil in the Great White North too, eh?

Couldn't put Humpty back together again.

And so There you have it,
The Kings Horses(PTB if you will)

Are Screwed.

So , the Pinnacle has broken.
The Shards and Remnants have shattered far and wide.

i thought it was because of racism.

after all didn't he just say it was because he was black and didn't nothing. and said that white people didn't like him.

Well to be fair it is only now that the Affordable Care Act has become law that he has pivoted to crying "racism." Before it passed he said that people were against it because they thought it was a "Bolshevik Plot!"

I knew it was funny. You get it.

That's very very funny.

Can't wait for the State of the Union Address tomorrow night er i should say tonight already for most of us.

Do you think he can suck me right back in with that special mojo..?

Caveat:

None of this nor the reference to the word "mojo" has anything to do with race per se, btw.

I shouldn't have to say that but i understand how some people have this tendency to jump to the wrong conclusions for all the wrong reasons. Then again as a "lingo" applied to Obama's often inauthentic black-manishness, and the image he likes to try to project it's only appropriate to describe his political dilemma in terms of "mojo" but it's not a race thing, i just wanted to make that clear!

Screw political correctness i say when it constrains free self expression.

But why hasn't he blamed them yet?

The opposite would be just fine.

Think of the progress.

Sounds to me that you voted with your emotions instead of your brain.

Those uninformed and clueless do this because they dont know how to think rationally when it
comes to politics.

Crying- acting like they are watching Micheal Jackson performing live- its pathetic because
politicians should never be elevated to that status especially when nobody knows a damn thing
about that person.

There are those among us who have seen through his facade since the very beginning, we tried
warning-we tried educating-we tried everything to get you all to see it.
But you couldnt, and instead insisted on treating those of us who were warning everyone
as if we were liars-racists-uneducated-hate mongers.

We had and still to this day have to listen to the morons who hold onto every word that comes
out of that snakes mouth.

We argue about how ridiculous his policies are and were, and how he is taking us down a path that
will be extremely tough to recover from. What do we get met with? Ignorant morons that
dont know a damn thing about the realities of politicians and politics all together.

These people are still out there spouting their nonsense about how everything that has happened to Obama
was not his fault, that its our fault for not believing in his bs.
His supporters can NEVER-EVER- debate serious issues SERIOUSLY.
They always seem to go to that personal emotional level because they have no substance to back
up any of their claims.

Im glad you woke up and all- but its a little too late to be jumping off the wagon now, the damage has been done,
and it seems as if all the rats are jumping ship because they know its sinking.
I have been seeing a lot of democrats 'jumping ship' lately because quite frankly, its a very early election season, and they
know that if they continue to stand by Obamas policies any longer- they will be left behind holding the bag.

If I could give these people any advice it would be this- stop putting your faith into people who promise you rainbows.
Because in the end- you wont see any, because you will be too busy trying to get yourself out of the muddy pit they
put you in.

America knew who the right person for the job was, but instead was too worried about their own parties power, instead of worrying about the power of the people as a whole.

F the democratic party, and F the GOP.
They fight each other during the day- and sleep together at night.
And when they sleep- they dream about their power over the ignorant fools who voted for them.

STOP WORSHIPPING SCUMBAGS.

I'm not an Obama lover, I try to see things objectively. All politiciAns are sleezy but some people talk as if Obama is the only corrupt politician out there. He was just the lesser of two evils in both elections. Things have gone to pot and no one politician can fix it.

Dear NewAgeMan,

What did you think he was going to change?

All it took for me was his affiliation with Rev. wright and black liberation theology.

www.washingtontimes.com...

Obama and his cohorts took race relation back 70 years.
Hate mongers, the lot of them.

Demagogue. It's a word. Learn it. Live it.

Anytime you find a new political miscreant you get all doey eyed over just slap yourself really hard and say demagogue three times fast. Realization should soon follow.

Well, servers you-and the rest- right. You allowed this Id10T in office-TWICE.

It is the weak minds and the pure laziness of your types that allowed yourselves to be hoodwinked.

As an example; You stood by while the Democrats and Lame Stream Media attack Palin-and do to this day.

She can't do one thing to you but you allowed the media to convince you she was the wrost thing since the inception of the devil. You stood by while they impuned and made fun of her children/family-thinking it was all.. Cool or something.

What is worse yet is that you-and others- still stand by as the Dems and friendly media set up Hillary Clinton-who we all know was directly responsible for the American deaths at Bengazi. and on and on and on.

Until you-and others-stand up against all of this/that... you'll just be another sucker for the next fish coming along. I am sure you have made up your mind already who you are voting for. Problaby agree with Immigration as well.

So, do us all a favor... go do you confessing & crying somewhere else and spare us the B.S.

I'm sorry to hear that you fell for the BS rhetoric that Obama spewed from his mouth in '08. Me, I looked at what he was saying and realized that he wasn't saying ANYTHING of substance, just "Hey if you elect me, things will be different. Hope and Change." I asked many Obama supporters why they were even voting for him. What were his stances on major issues? He never seemed to clarify anything about them. The answers were always the run around (unless they were black, it only took a few probing questions to find out that they were just voting for him because of his skin color) because they didn't know the answers either.

Exactly

He was trumped up and media polished to appear as a messiah

Oprah and other celebs backed him and many were "hoodwinked"

A real beacon of hope

My wife and I never trusted the guy one bit

Bill hicks stating what I think what's pretty much going on.

Personally I fell for President Obama's first election as well. Then I seen him stock his cabinet with the same old same old and knew differently.

Thing is, I know that if Senator "The Economy is Sound (CRASH)" McCain would have won, things would have been accelerated as far as "Big Business" running the country and the Middle East would have been on fire as well as flare ups in South America. Same with Mitt Romney. The only credit I give to President Obama these days is putting the brakes (somewhat) on letting the tendrils spread.

There are those who say they don't like the federal level of government and I somewhat agree though I do believe these industrial heads make that level of government ineffectual so that people will have this attitude and lose faith in the only thing that we have to fight these corporate giants.

It is a fine pickle the US is in. We all pretty much know it too but until we have some strong people that say "wait a minute" at the federal level things will continue to get worse. I don't hold any hope because they'd be instantly called socialistic, which sounds damned familiar now doesn't it?

It's okay I think a lot of people fell for his lines. I did in 2008. But I wasn't politically awake back then.
