We talk big, but we are bugs, much like fruit flies. We think we are all that matters, but we are no greater than fruit flies.

Lol!

To the OP: We are much bigger than anyone could ever imagine. We have a much bigger role in the universe than most realize.

Some days you're the fly, other days you're the windshield.
Are we ever going to remember that we can be wipers too?

Well it is good if you have a vehicle. If you don't have a vehicle I guess you can get a bike and not worry about fly's, bug shields or wipers. Then you would likely have to use more energy on that day.

It's all relative. To a civilization on another planet who might be spacefaring we should feel +2 happiness on a scale of 10 due to the condition of the world. But since there are none we can make ourselves believe we can feel +9 happiness.

For example, to us WW2 might be a 9 on a scale of 10 of bad events but to someone spacefaring a 9 might mean intergalactic war and WW2 is only a 4 or 5.

I prefer to think of myself as stardust.

It's an attitude thing.

Are we everything that matters or insignificant 'bugs'? These are extremes which both show out of balance egos.

We choose. This choice when coming from an aware and balanced Self is the sweet spot.

Really !
All this time I thought we we're carbon based nanobots homesteading
on a pretty blue galactic cannon ball. That big bang into this universal
darkness we are experiencing, is soild proof that we haven't yet left
the turret. We're still in the barrel of Gods mighty cannon. And the
light at end of the tunnel? is the universal light of eternal mind and
will hit our souls like a freight train. So keep you shades handy.

You are what you see, what you see is the universe and the universe is pretty big. We're much bigger than most realize.

this is the main reason for religious belief. you give people a sense that the life they have now, will continue on, but, somehow on a different ethereal plane. it's all BS to keep the masses from resorting to our deep-seated, violent, self-obsessed, Neanderthal-like, nature to survive. the most dangerous human on earth, is the one that lacks empathy, and, even more so if that same human has become wealthy.
