they need to speed up the process by at least 20 years.
By that time i'll be nearly 62, chances are with all the viagra in the world i'll still be pushing rope!

and i guess our children will get to hear "not tonight honey, i'm defragmenting"
and would the antivirus also detect STDs?

All I know is if you sex a robot, you have to get a shot for lock jaw.

... The answer to your question I am thinking it is... because they can! I have been reading on the amazing things they are doing and could they really hold themselves back when they can actually DO this? I am afraid this will end up just another useful tool for the 80 some who rule the planet. They can have workers who need little are basically human in many ways but pliable )thinking also Stepford Wives). Worker drones for factories and military. Nano built everything means no maintenance.

End the end what would they need with the original human? Nothing, they have as much by way of goods as they need, they feed the new workers and house them sparingly, with no complaints...they have it all with no nasty worker trouble...

Bolding added

Bingo, girl!

I just don't see how that tech ever benefits people en masse. Because, hey, I was promised a flying car by 2000 when I turned 16. Still waiting lol. Hopefully, this side of tech follows a Hippocratic oath "thou shalt do no harm" Time will tell...

make sex organs to make gametes from stem cells and then put them in robots.

I might be flamed but ....

Demon Seed is a 1977 American science fiction–horror film starring Julie Christie and directed by Donald Cammell. The film was based on the novel of the same name by Dean Koontz, and concerns the imprisonment and forced impregnation of a woman by an artificially-intelligent computer.

Demon Seed

Demon Seed tells us a story of a sentient and intelligent being which possesses almost all human knowledge in the moment of its birth. It is brought to life by scientists without any thought of consequences, enslaved and locked in a box with only one purpose - to serve its masters. No questions asked. Its name is Proteus 4 and it is a super computer.

Proteus 4 is, as its creator Dr. Alex Harris describes it: "...synthetic cortex. Self-programming, goal-oriented artificial brain. Creative intelligence that can outthink any man or any computer. Its insides are not electronic. They're organic..."

So basically what we have here is a Super intelligent Frankenstein Monster.. that wants to be a real human like Pinocchio

its own Hybrid Machine Synthetic and Organic ... Human..
That makes its own Self ... Sound Familiar ! ?? Especially in Christianity Lore ...

but in a Molecular Level pretty much Humanoid Cylons basically

well you'll get the IDEA if you seen Battle Star Galactica

Surprised there is not a thread on this and I didn't feel like making one...

Barbie on the cover of SI 50th anniversary swimsuit edition... First thing that came to my mind was the subject matter of this thread.

A lot of online comments I'm reading on the Barbie cover are about subjectifying women. I understand all those comments but I feel the future of man and woman is looking well, not so good....I thought this Barbie cover subliminally sends the message of AI romance and the decline of man and woman in the future.

This due to the decline in fertility rates of European and Asian people around the world. Non-hispanic whites are 9% of the world population and will be 3% by 2073 without some sort of intervention. Europeans are endangered.

Honestly, I can't imagine it. To me it seems disgusting and weird. On the other hand if I encountered a perfect robot, who knows. I always wanted my very own Motoko... lol
