Haha!

I didn't realize that you literally have this money to spend...I was thinking hypothetically.

Sorry I didn't fully comprehend the initial post...

That's ok...maybe *some* of the data is hypothetical because of 3letteracronymsifyouknowwhatImean?

You provide some excellent suggestions; thanks for the feedback!

It's only $5000. If you have no debts and you don't need anything, I'd save it for emergencies.
It always recommended that there be at least 3 months living expenses saved for emergencies, in case of job loss, or illness, or other unexpected problems that life throws at us sometimes.

You're absolutely correct, IMO...

But if it was a tad bit more than that, & someone was going to take quite a chunk out of it, what would you do?

Thoughts on that?

Thanks.

Thank you, they are my entire life.
I am truly sorry to hear that, maybe adoption might be something for you to look into?

Some physical precious metals and look for opportunities to short stocks.

You DID reference the global meltdown... You sound like you don't have any debt issues but, if you do address those first,

It's too complex to go into further detail, & I would love to adopt, but it just would not be fair to the child(ren).

I do have a tween nephew ( am his fairy godmother) who lives within an hour's drive time. We watch him quite often & enjoy playing all sorts of board, card, video games -- as well as shooting hoops, competing in soccer, football, etc. together. I just hope I don't spoil him toooo much as my brother accuses me of, lol. So he, my husband, & my dogs are most important to my life

I'm sure your children love you so much...you sound like a great mom!
