Something bad (?) is going on and i do not even include
the Chinese in to my thoughts because i do not know
enough about their Geo Engineering!

I think "Global Warming" is a possibility and we should be careful!

There are different Reasons but do not forget that the North of
Thailand is very mountainous and more than 2.000m high.

I think a few was old, others drunk, sick or just exhausted.

It was already very cold last Month and i needed warm Cloth and Shoes,
never had to wear so much!

We even thought about Red Hotwine with Spices for Christmas

It has nothing to do with Global Warming, we have just begun an extremely rare Solar Lull. These have been linked to the coldest winters on earth. Again, for all the global warming nay sayers lately, solar activity has NOTHING to do with Global Warming.

Global Warming is caused by greenhouse gases, ever been in a greenhouse in the winter? It's still cold.

Saying that, I'm also not a Global Warming defender and still believe it needs more research, personally I think this is part of a natural cycle but it's probably best not to tempt fate by pumping our atmosphere with carbon.

Anywayyy....

Sad to hear about deaths, I bet they were totally unprepared for this.

Maybe this is why they want to kick Australia's ass? They want warmth.

I bet most of these deaths are drunks. No healthy person dies at 15.6 Celsius. You don't even die when you are sleeping naked outside. +15.6 C is too much for hypothermia.

It was 15c. in Bangkok,
this means that it was ca. -5 in Chiang Dao,
+ 5c. in Chiang Mai and for this People it is cold enough.

And their Houses are mostly not like ours.

But i am surprised too,
i understand that a few People die, like u said the Drunks,
but not 60!

This year’s cool season has been the longest for a decade, lasting for almost three months, Mr Songkram said. Temperatures in north and northeastern Thailand have dipped to single digits, claiming up to 63 lives in 24 provinces, the ministry of health said on Thursday.

another source

people over there are not used to cold weather , single digit is too much for them .

How ignorant can you get?

pretending like the weathers not changing just because its not doing what its name suggests.

''Globally warming''

Would you be so arrogant if it was called ''climate change'' ?

I remember a couple decades back doing a paper on global warming for school...

And I distinctly remember what they said global warming would lead to.

Horrific intensified storms. Hurricane, tropical, and land. Increased tornado. Increased rainfall (flooding) and snowfall (blizzards) everywhere - cause the moisture melting and entering the atmosphere.

This was what I'm thirty eight now... so yeah.... about 20 years ago they were saying this, and here we are today.

The weather this year reminds me of the weather we experienced in the 80's.

Thoughts go out to the people of Thailand. I'm up near the Canadian border. I can relate.
