I was reading a thread on ATS titled "I do not believe in Birth Control" and I was

struck by the following thought .... but before I continue with my thoughts I want to

stress this is hypothetical and I am in no way denigrating any section of the

population.

Obviously I am speaking of where I live (the UK) so the situation I am referring to

will not be at present as pressing in other larger countries.

# There are many single mothers with children from different fathers ...

# There are mothers who have been married multiple times so will have children

from different fathers ...

# There are 'single' fathers sometimes via more than one mother ...

Many times these children have no named father on their birth certificates.

Now the UK is small, roughly 400 x 200 miles, and once settled people don't tend

to move around.

FINALLY I reach the crux of the matter - The now grown children are

socialising in a fairly tight, narrow communities, and there are bound to be half

blood siblings not known to each other, and getting together!

So i'm wondering WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM FOR THE FUTURE? ?

You can gladly have him back, he's probally a really good swimmer....web fingers and such. I mean his name is Piers, sort of water related. Even if he can't swim, I understand feces floats. He would be the damn Queen Mary!!!!!!
edit on 20-1-2014 by openyourmind1262 because: (no reason given)

On a serious note, that would be horrible to fall in love, marry, have kids, and find out it's your sister. OUCH!

As a matter of fact it has already happened, I remember reading the story in a

magazine a while back, and for some reason it came back to me when I read that

other thread

I recently saw a piece on CNN that had Piers at bat with a cricket player. I was in my mind hoping for a wild upside the head pitch that would put Piers out of our's and you alls misery. There has never been a person I would like to openly slap about the face & head as much as Piers. I can see why you all don't want him back. But I do agree with your op, given the small land mass and the way folks are these days, it's bound to happen if not already.

This is off topic .... but hell its my thread so I'll say it.

He's not popular here, I gather he's not popular there, so how does he warrant

the eye watering fee he gets paid??????

And that's all I have to say about him. SUBJECT CLOSED

I would say over here it's his catchy british accent.. Yea we like folks with british accents on our TV's telling us about our country and all the things wrong with it. Yea we just love ole Piers over here. I wonder if France wants him? I too will stop with the Piers bashing

Just watched Jeremy Kyle UK show on TV (no don't lol) but it goes some way in

confirming my OP ? ...

A man in his late 30's with teen age children of his own met a young man

(18 ish years old) at the skate park to whom he offered a job to, in his own

small business.

When visiting his father who was now in a home his father told him that he had a half

sibling called 'Josh' He thought nothing more about it as he didn't know anyone by

that name.

One day this man noticed a marked likeness in the young man he had employed, (and

whom he had only ever known by a 'nick name)' to his younger brother.... so he asked

him what his real name was ..... and yes it was 'Josh' ...

So there they both were on the Jeremy Kyle show for a DNA test which proved they

were after all half brothers!!!...
