Just to give you more options.
Back in the day I would make wooden knife sheaths .
here in Colorado we have a lot Native Americans making really pretty 'artsy' but workable knives.
normally their sold without a sheath so I'll break out my band saw and router and go to work.

If you have a really pretty piece of wood you just leave it as is.

If not you can always wrap the wood with a shammy leather and glue it down.

like I said, you don't have to do it my way, just giving a brother Jar head options... Giving a Marine ideas, talk about dangerous!

Not hard to do.

find you a nice blank rip it in two. lay your blade on each half and trace out the profile.
you can use a gouge or router to cut your grove... make it lose wood swells. once done glue both half's together then you do the shaping rounding and finish. easy a making a chopping block for the wife

I can't say enough about this knife, but I'll say a little more

The sheath is secure, has a locking feature, and one handed operation is a doddle.

My other knives all have handmade old style leather sheaths, which I love, but they don't compare to the kydex hybrid of the pathfinder.

Mine is fairly old

I don't know if they exist, but a retention sheath would be awesome. Like those kydex retention holsters where your forefinger pushes the release and without that it's locked in
