That's the design of that particular track. It's meant for grinding.

Show of hands... how many of our members use a headset?

*Raises hand*

I don't have a headset but I use the text chat room function on the XMB and I have a keyboard. It seems to work better in most situations, anyway, since there is always somebody too loud or too quiet. The blend between a group who has keyboards and headsets seem to work just fine in my experience.

I wouldn't mind typing, but I don't have an HDTV, so I have a very hard time reading the text on the screen; hence, headset for me.

***EDIT***
Also, as I play in the family room, my mic tends to pick up my wife, the baby, the movie that's invariably being played... I worry that it bothers people, but I haven't had a complaint yet.

I have the same wife and kid issue which is exactly why I don't use a headset. As far as HD, I also have only a standard definition and the text chat shows up quite well (just like the messages sent to and from other PS3 users).

What I was saying was that a group could all sign into the chat room and still use their mics. They only need the chat room so they can read the messages that pop up in-game but they don't need to type back since everybody else can still hear those with mics.

Next time I'm on and I see you, I'll invite you to a chat room so you can see how it works. Like I said, it doesn't affect the people who use mics other than allowing them to be communicated with by those without the mics.

I should specify... that track is designed for solo grinding, mainly.

One more race after this one, and I should be at rank 90 (finally). Heavy Sniper, here I come!

I had to build it with the creator via instructions. I think you'd have to have a copy to play it, but I dunno. I'll invite you into the next one and see if you're able to join.

We're going to have to do that chat room for sure... otherwise, you look like a lunatic driving around with your constant police "escort". Lol!

Whenever we're in the game just say what you want to do. I'm game for anything. Working on a mic. My son has one but most of the time he's using it. BTW he's T-Wrexage. He noticed I was playing and begged me to invite him.

I don't see any issue with inviting friends and family (even if they aren't part of the crew) into the server. If we can't trust the judgement of crew members, whose can we trust?

I know that if my son had been in the house (and if he had his own PS3), I would have let him in as well, as long as he didn't cause any trouble (in which case, I would have trolled the hell out of him. Lol).

I appreciate that Professor. As you can see he plays more than I and has a ton of fast cars also.
He was playing online with this one guy about two weeks ago and all of the sudden the guy had a million dollar bounty on him. Not knowing how that was possible my son asked him. The guy replied by asking if anyone wanted some money. My son spoke up and then the dude just gave him a billion with a 'b' dollars! My son has tried to give some money away (namely me) but it won't let him so it's gotta be a glitch. He went on a spending spree as you can imagine.

The new cheat fix Rockstar released seems to have cut the money down into the millions but he still has all his vehicles. At least for now.

It was glitchy last night. I too was wondering how the big truck got on the roof of that building.

My son had a similar thing occur to him. He killed a guy that had a bounty on him. The bounty was for 99 million dollars. Of course, my son (who had a low-level character and no money) went on a $20 million spending spree, after which I convinced him to report the situation to Rockstar because I didn't want him to be banned for simply playing the game, and after the fix, he was left with $108,000 (which is still far more than he had in the first place) and got to keep all of his purchases as well.
